The Banner Saga has a really nice title screen.
Just a quick couple of things as long as I am thinking about it. I have not had a chance to put much of any time into The Banner Saga. The title screen is really nice, but that is about as far as I have gotten. Since I quit Cookie Clicker I have returned my laptop to its original storage place under the couch. It usually sits there until I get the urge to update my phone with more Doctor Who. So, I will have to make an extra special effort to pull out the Banner Saga and sadly I do not see that happening anytime soon... I just remembered that I have MLK day off so maybe I will test it out then.
While I have settled into Assassins Creed IV as my console game for the moment, I have been jumping around on the handheld front. I hit a stumbling block in Mutant Mudds and have put it down for a little bit. In the meantime I have put a couple of hours in Symphony of the Night. It is a great game, but I think that the Sorrow games are a little bit more accessible than SotN. I also downloaded Killzone Mercenary because it was only $9 on the PSN. I immediately regretted the decision because it is a 4+ GB file. That regret was quickly washed away when I booted it up and was treated with a far better first impression than Shadow Fall. Yes, Mercenary already feels like a better game that its console cousin. If the initial missions are a look at things to come then it could easily become one of the best games I have played from 2013.
Going off of that, I will say that the handhelds nailed it last year. All of my favourite games from 2013 were handheld releases. I don't know what Sony and Nintendo did, but I hope they keep it up. A Link Between Worlds even won Pixlbit's GotY award. That right there should speak volumes as to how much you need a 3DS and/or Vita. Definitely a 3DS.
