My day today

I still don't want to commit to BaD, because the month of February seems to be when things kick into gear for my school and workload. I'm going to try to do it, but no official announcements will come from me.

There are a lot of tits on my Facebook feed today, between a girl posting Buzzfeed's 28 things that suck about big boobs, and TYT posting about The Empire State building suing a titty photographer for a million bucks.

My day was interesting. Got a text from my boss this morning that someone added the Practicum class, and since everyone was already shifted, we had a meeting to figure out where to put him. After some braining-storming, my idea to just put him on earlier than usual went through. Meaning I have to be there by 8am tomorrow to train him, instead of the usual 9:30, to open the radio station. Oh well, the GM said she could open for him at that time during the semester, so not as bad as I thought. Only tomorrow will that extra suck factor hit. Who knows, Maybe I'll actually use this as a reason to go to the gym at 6am, like I know I won't, cause it's cold in my apartment in the morning, and blankets exist.

On top of that, there were several difficulties, one of which went up as far as an issue could go. That was the station's computer stopping and starting so that songs skipped. It's always fun when the only things you know to do with a computer don't work and you have to wait for technical support. My GM carried the brunt of that, though. I actually went to lunch and came back, having been training the DJ in there while all this was going on.

Other than that, all that happened was that I got called out of the free movie I was wathcing in the Student Center so I could figure out which button needed to be pressed to turn the speaker in the control room back on, so the DJ could hear. We were still on air, so that one wasn't major, but I did have to call my boss to figure it out.

Speaking of that movie, The Butler was a mixed bag. It was funny, disturbing, and inspiring at its best, but at its worst ... please don't cast Robin Williams as Eisenhower. That's just distracting. I'm also not sure if by casting Alan Rickman in the role, they were trying to say Reagan was secretly a Die Hard villain. Well, Cuba Gooding Jr.'s quips and LBJ on the shitter were funny. Not sure how I feel about the lead actor's voice deepening thing, though. And Lenny Kravitz looks like he wants to have sex with me no matter how uninvolved he looks, or what angle he's being shot from. Oprah is also a distracting casting choice ... by Oprah.

Well, that's my thoughts for today. I'll install Tomb Raider to my computer some time over the weekend I think.

Maybe I could do a Weekend Update edition of BaD.

I think you'll like Tomb Raider more than the average gamer since so much of it will be new to you. Just read up on what key to press with the QTE's, Blake says they don't do a good job of telling you which key to press.

I'm going to play with a360 controller, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Robin Williams as Eisenhower? He's not an Eisenhower. He's a Wisenheimer. That movie sounds wacko and I think if my wisecracking friend and I saw it in the theater, we would be on the floor laughing. Probably get thrown out.

There were people laughing at a lot of the stuff behind me, and I didn't mind, and they didn't get thrown out. A lot of the movie was ... odd. I still liked it, though. It even got people to clap at the end.

Then again, it was a discount student theater screening in the Student Center, so maybe at a fancier place, you'd have gotten thrown out. Depends on the theater.

My friend and I laughed so hard during the film 2012 that we kinda fell over and couldn't breathe. Luckily we were the only ones in the theater. So no complaints.

don't worry about BaD.  It is quite a commitment.  That Butler movie sounds insane.

I've been meaning to play Tomb Raider too.  I got it during a sale and I think I already have it installed on Steam.

It's not so much insane as it has some baffling casting choices in it. I enjoyed both how laughably bad and genuinely good parts of it were.

Same here on all fronts with Tomb Raider, just have yet to install on my laptop.

Those are some, uh, interesting casting choices, for sure. I wonder who took a look at Eisenhower and thought 'Robin Williams would be a perfect fit'. Then I think about how that same person makes more money than I'll probably ever see in my lifetime and I feel a little glum.

Coming from a background in Production, you might rest easy knowing that simply being in the Hollywood system DOES NOT mean you make millions. Plenty of the work now is being done by contractors in Luoisiana (like my former PA position) and while the casting director probably lives comfortabl ... actually, I think the casting director may have also been Oprah.

Alright, never mind, I guess you're right. Actually, no. It's a guy named Billy Hopkins. Well, he sounds rich, so I guess you still could be right. Sad day for the rest of us.

I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to BaD. I tried two years in a row and wasn't able to pull it off. Doubt I can do it again.

So kicking the PC to stop the song skippings won't work then no?

Not going to watch The Butler. Doesn't sound interesting and your brief description sounds like I can use that unspent money on some used games soon.

An IT guy came by recently to gather intel, and I want to say they'll just back everything up.
