Well Happy Tuesday Pixlbit! Again I didn’t have a Monday blog because I’ve been spending time with family. We had a birthday party/family get together which means a lot of Disney Infinity with the younger cousins, as well as other random gaming. How about a little recap of what was played? Sound good? Cool

What We Played

Madden 25 – PS3

My younger cousin started getting into football last year, and now he loves it. He’s been playing Madden on the iPad, and he’s been learning about the game (not bad for a young guy). We decided to play Madden because he kept challenging me, and we played a bunch of games. He won a couple when he used the All Madden team, which was funny because he would dance everytime he scored. I tried to teach him how to read some plays, but he said he was good at the game and I needed practice. I laughed, and then didn’t let him win for the rest of the night.

We played more Madden the next couple of days and had a lot of fun (he won some games but didn’t say I needed practice). Our last game we had a Super Bowl matchup, and I won 21-7 but he had a big interception in the end zone with a certain Seahawk who’s been in the news. To make it interesting I yelled “OMAHA” and pointed out coverages to my cousin.

Disney Infinity – PS3

We had a ton of fun with Toy Box Mode, and we built a ton of new things, and explored our new creations. We made an agreement (me and the three under 10 years old) that we wouldn’t shoot at each other…but that lasted all of 5 minutes before it became G-Rated Call of Duty.

There were some stadium elements I unlocked for the Toy Box that we used to create an arena for some of our epic G-Rated COD battles. I have to admit that this game is a ton of fun when you play the toy box with another person. One of my cousins tried to level up one of my characters and raised Captain Jack Sparrow two spots to 11.

Minecraft – Android

I have no idea how it works but my cousins were giving me a quick tutorial on how to play…and I’m still lost. I wanted to fill the office building my cousin built with water but I wasn’t allowed.

Epic Mickey 2 – Vita

When my cousins were playing Disney Infinity I decided to make some progress in this game. It’s starting to grow on me, and I’m starting to really enjoy the gameplay, even if the thought bubbles were a little tough to activate at some points. My youngest cousin decided to watch me, and do play by play. It’s amazing/hilarious on what a 4 year old thinks about what’s going on in a game.

Lego Time

When my cousin wasn’t doing the play by play, he wanted to play with the Lego and I brought out the Super Hero and some Police stuff.

The Super Heroes before the craziness

And the minifigures

After a couple of days it looked like a tornado went through the Lego, and my cousin wanted to see what each figure looked like with a different head.

The figures after the little one went nuts

Some buildings and vehicles. The random parts on the bottom of the bin were cars that he took apart to see how they looked

One of the helicopters after he realized that the sides open up

And what’s left of the Quinjet from the Avengers.

It’s funny to listen to him explain why he took the vehicles apart, and why the figures needed new heads was hilarious, but there’s going to be a lot of building after I’m finished with this blog.

Birthday Pickups

I got a couple of cool things from the family throughout the this time like random birthday cards in Spanish (running joke among the family), gift cards, gifts, and of course food!

It was Bundt Cake for the birthday party where the birthday folks had a mini personal Bundt cake, along with the big Bundt cake. As much as I like to make fun of bakeries that make specialty cupcakes and cakes, I do like this place’s Bundt cakes…and because of this I overlooked the way they spelled my name (It was spelled “Chis”). I do love the personal bundt cakes so check them out Nothing Bundt Cakes

I got a bigger SD card for my Big Gameboy. It wasn’t like I needed the space, but I did mention that I wanted to get a bigger memory card and they were on sale at Target, so I got one.

The first game I bought for my new memory card is one I got for Christmas many moons ago.

It isn’t a great game, but it was a game that I got to pick out at a Warehouse Music (remember those stores?)

I also got a gift card for the Google Play Store, and I used some of it before I started this blog to buy two albums

I’m a fan of Dave Koz and Mindi Abair and I saw this album was on sale and there were covers that I liked so why not. Gregory Porter is an Aztec who went to SDSU for football. Awesome music.

Well Pixlbit it’s time for me to tackle the rebuilding process so I shall end this blog here. Have a good one and we shall meet up again for Quick Hits

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Oh, young cousins and Legos! Mine used to wreak havoc on my Legos, before my mom gifted my Legos to the kid of one of her co-workers (without my permission). Mine were all from back before they had all kinds of movie and book tie-ins, though.

And happy belated birthday Chis! LOL, couldn't help myself.

Haha, yep, my cousins did some crazy things, glad I didn't bring out the other sets or else there would be a mountain of plastic bricks and minifig parts everywhere. Ouch! That hurts to hear that the Lego were "donated" like that.

Thank you...and no worries everyone was saying "Chis" LOL.

Are you excited about the LEGO movie?

Yes I am! The trailers really make it look funny, and I heard there is going to be a game. The actual sets I'm not a fan of, but if I like the movie, I might add a couple to the collection.

I'm kinda interested in the game. Online co-op for once in a Lego game!

Ooh Online Co-Op? Didn't know about that, but it does sound fun.

I also think it's time fo start building up that Lego collection! It's crazy how many Lego sets I've bought over the years. I wish I would have kept the older sets I had when I was a kid (I miss the old space minifigures)

Hey happy birthday! I myself had a birthday only a week ago. I don't think I've seen so much lego at once, and I used to love it!

Thank you!...and Happy Birthday to you as well! Oh it's crazy looking at all these minifigures but I do like'em, and a positive is that I've never stepped on any pieces *knocks on a lot of wood*

Happy birthday, Chis! Good luck rebuilding those LEGOs. Never heard of the artists/CDs you mentioned (Liquid Squirt? Ok ... ) but they sound interesting. I wonder if Warehouse Music was related to the CD Warehouses that used to be near me.

Thank you sir! It took 3 hours to get the minifigs somewhat in order, but I now have random legs, and torso parts, so I think the rest of the figures are either in the plastic bin full of parts or under the couch. I was warned by my cousin that a couple of pieces might have made their way there.

Both albums are Jazz but the Dave Koz one is Smooth Jazz versions of songs (I almost call this album mall music)

They might be. If your store sold movies, cds, and games with a markup from retail...but they also were one of the first spots I remember that sold used cds. I missed these types of stores.

I always expected to find Narnia when looking under my parents' couch back home. God speed to you in finding these LEGOs.

I associate smooth jazz with the Dentist's office waiting room and male DJs trying to be a bit too smooth with me at night, but when I listen to smooth jazz radio on Spotify, there's lots of excellent stuff. I should listen more often.

Looking it up, I don't think so, but I do like the music on the CD Warehouse website. When I looked up Warehouse music, I saw Wherehouse Music, and Wikipedia lists that as a defunct chain of stores owned by a company whose name I'm forgetting, but doesn't mention California having been a state location for them. Dunno what's up.

Oh there are going to be some random finds in and under the couch. I think my missing Leia minifig is probably there.

Yup smooth jazz goes through waiting rooms/mall music, to actual decent stuff. I stick with some of the saxophone artists.

Haha Warehouse Music left off California. It was a cool store and a short walk from SDSU, but if you took the short walk in the opposite direction, you hit Tower Records and a local mom & pop shop, and those places usually got the most business. Now I miss Tower Records...

ha ha, funny how you kicked your cousin's ass in Madden.

I used to love legos.  Really really fun.

Haha, I was trying to teach him how to read plays too, and I was playing by Pro Bowl rules (basic 4-3 with no blitzing). After that it was regular football, but we had fun, and I think he learned that Hail Mary shouldn't be used for every play.

Love Lego, but I haven't been buying any new sets recently.

but Hail Mary SHOULD be used for every play!

Thank you sir!

I started getting back into Madden towards the end of the regular season. I like the speed change from NCAA, and I call the Cowboys where even in video game form, I'm going to blame Monte Kiffin's defense.
