I forgot you live in Texas. I'm in Baytown. Although I wasn't born here. I haven't eaten at Whataburger too many times, but I thought they had some good food. I wouldn't say they should be King of the Universe though lol.

As I said, not to be taken seriously, I just love me some Whataburger lol

Where were you born? My family is actually mostly from Wisconsin, and most still live there other than a couple oddballs like us, but I was plopped out right here. lol

I didn't take it seriously lol. Just sayin. I was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. We have lived all over the US though. I might be moving again in 3 weeks lol.

And Louisiana is very close to where I went to college in Nacogdoches, and now I'm thinking we may have talked about this before, but I'm not sure. lol But hey, I learned something new about you today, so this blog isn't a total waste! lol

Annoying Yanks can be quite fun. A guy from Pittsburg just started working with me and it's so much fun to annoy him.  And I love Texas Toast, especially with gravy.

Gravy is an acceptable condiment for anything for us southerners! haha

Another Texan here.  I do like Whataburger, but it's not my favorite.  It doesn't help that we are in the midst of a burger explosion right now!  Just got back from eating a tasty burger tonight, in fact.  Blue cheese and jalapenos... mmmmmm....

What's with all the "meh" towards Whataburger? Maybe it's cause I only last year graduated college, but a lot of my friends who've moved out of state REALLY miss it, and it's pretty much an after party location for everyone (which didn't help staff morale come to think of it; I usually tried to get in and out from the drunkards quick as I could!)

I'm not comparing Whataburger to anything but other fast food, but in that category it's high on my list.

Oh yes, as far as a fast food burger goes, Whataburger is probably tops.  It is definitely an after party place since they never close.  

I ate at Bottlecap Alley, which is a small chain starting up by the owners of Cotton Patch Cafe (yuck).  This place makes pretty good burgers, although their fries are sorta not great.  They might have one over Dallas way, and if so you should give it a shot.  I wouldn't drive anywhere far for one.  

Yeah, my favorite sit down burger joint might be either Chapps or Five Guys, and Red Robin is in there somewhere because their Blue Ribbon Burger taught me how amazing blue cheese can be on burgers. lol

I'll check out Bottlecap Alley if I see one. I liked Cotton Patch Cafe when I went, but I did notice their menu looked almost the same as ours at Outback Steakhouse, when I used to work there. I think Outback is better, but I didn't have the yuck reaction to Cotton Patch you did. lol

I live in Oklahoma,have for quite some time now. But I have to admit something to you. This state blows! It has serious problems. The people are alright,but our state government is pretty dismal. Texas, on the other hand,rocks. I've lived in Houston and Lewisville before. Both cities were a blast. I truly enjoyed my time there and made some great friends. Great music,great sports,and great beaches......you can't beat that.

Funny thing about Oklahoma ... I know what you mean. Not to be rude, but I don't have much fondness for the state, because of my experiences passing through and some of the people I've met. Some people from there are great, like you, and my friends have said they had good times in Oklahoma City, don't get me wrong, but overall? Let's move on. lol

I don't like our state government all that much either, frankly, but last year I was in Dallas, Nacogdoches, Houston, and Austin, and had a blast; especially in Austin, there's so much to do!

Especially if you love music; we were eating stuff from a Coolhaus trailer, and across the street they were having a karaoke contest for opera singers!

Let me know next time your in Austin I will show you six street, & lake Travis I love Austin and being that im a drummer in a band well Austin just fits me like a glove lol

I think the coyotes are moving back into my area now that we've reached build out. At night I can hear them howling at the train whistles. Cool to hear, but I don't want to see one up close.

My first experience with Texans wasn't a very good one. Large party of them at the seafood restaurant I was working at when I was 16. They were loud, rude, obxnoxious, stiffed the waitstaff,and were insulting to the point that other customers left the restaurant. We got our revenge by not telling them how to properly get into a lobster or giving them the right tools. Oh, and one of the cooks snuck out into the parking lot and let the air out of their tires. It was obvious which cars were theirs. It was fun watching them bashing the lobsters with the wooden mallets that my boss used as table decorations and covering themselves in lobster guts.

Many years later, I don't automatically start twitching every time I meet someone from Texas, but it took a while.

I'm sorry to hear that, especially as a former waiter. While still not getting into specifics, this is roughly my experience with Oklahomans, only not involving restaurants, but just general rudeness. lol As long as we can both accept they're not ALL like that, I think everything will be ok.

I watched the video, and it looked like fun, but I couldn't really hear the words; I'll look it up later when I'm not as tired.

Well always great to hear from fellow Texans As alot of you may or may not know Im from the capital city of Austin Texas born a raised in Houston and for the record dont hold Us Texans accountable for all being rude, matter of fact 90% of us would give you the shirt off our backs and are very freindly when the wildfires hit Bastrop we all pitched in and helped so dont let a few wanna be rednecks make you think were rude were not.

I was in Nac when the Bastrop fires happened, so a lot of the backpacks in a closet in the dorm I was working in were for victims.

Austin is probably my favorite Texas city, nice to see people from there!

We used to eat red robin a lot, but the last couple times were a little meh to bleh. I'll go back, though. I need to try Five Guys, but my son has a peanut allergy so going there isn't an option under normal circumstances.

Oh, and there's nothing gross about Cotton Patch, but I just don't care for it much. My "yuck" was a bit extreme, I suppose.

Interesting you say that; my mom was wondering how they were allowed to do all that when there are people with such allergies.

If you can get a friend to get some take out from there, though, I recommend it. And hey, no problem, I'm a bit hyperbolic sometimes too, sometimes.

They can't cater to everybody's allergies. It's not too big a deal, but I still want to try their burgers.
