GLAD: The Dating Game

All I did today was have my friend and trainer check how I did my weight lifting work outs he prescribed, go to my office, do my cardio (uphill walking), get Ghost Trick from GameStop, get a Vito with hot peppers from Jimmy John's before the Super Bowl, get soap/3-in-1 Axe body, shampoo and conditioner bottle/big jar of peanut butter (for protein and to add to stuff at the apartment for flavor) at Kroger, watch the game at my friend's house while his girlfriend helped make me a plenty of fish profile, order wings, and will now work on my paper for tomorrow.

Game was boring. I was rooting for Seattle, but started rooting for Broncos to make it interesting at least.

Bruno Mars on the other hand was the best Half Time performer I've seen in my life time, which may not be saying much, but he was damn good. I wish RHCP did more than just one song with him or without, but "Give it Away" was great.

I only saw a few commercials, I'll watch the rest on Youtube. Bruce Willis asked "good game, huh?" and it was incredibly poorly timed because the game was already really lopsided. And Fred Armisen made me laugh in that ad, a first for him.

I need to check out this rainbow farts ad Cary mentioned. I liked the movie trailers for Captain America and Muppets.

Oh, and I already got a response on my plentyoffish profile. Have to look at it more tomorrow, girl seems cute, but I'm too tired to do anything about it now and need to finish my paper and go to bed.

See ya.

Yup. Free dating site advertised in the music video for "Telephone" by Lady Gaga and around I think since Facebook was first popular. http://pof.com

As my brother humorously texted me during the game...  Bruno Mars was on the field longer than the Bronco's offense.

I only wish that were literally true. His set was a hell of a lot more entertaining than the game.

I will never understand NFL....

Does Australia have its own "pigskin" foorball league like Canada, or is it actual football/soccer and rugby (which I loved playing in high school) only for the most part?

Well, there's Rugby, but there's also this.

AFL and Rugby. AFL feels like a mix of Soccer and Rugby. NFL i s actually only really big in the US. Some other places have teams, but very few watch it religiously. Also, dear god, there are SO many movie about it!

According to Alex's link, it's a more violent version of rugby on a fucking cricket field, and from that description, I'm banning you from getting on the U.S. about non-gun (yeah, guns are still fair game, don't worry) violence from now on, cause Jesus! lol

And we're aware that every other country plays what we call soccer, or that game where it makes sense to call it football, cause there's more than one guy that puts his foot on the ball, and the guys that kick the ball aren't the least respected by many who follow the sport ... I like kickers, though. I'd like being a wide receiver myself, I'm a good catch. I was a lineman or a tight end in seventh grade, though. I forget where I was in the scrum when I played rugby in high school. It was wherever the skinnier guys that run go, which is weird, cause lineman is a heavy person's position in football. I was a defender in middle school soccer, and we sucked, so I'd just talk with my best friend/other defender until we had to kick the ball away. I think we were defenders cause we were fat, not that a professional one would be at all, but the athletic kids were forwards. Now in basketball is where I shined, cause I was a damn good shot, and had odd shooting styles that ... didn't work if you defended them right, but made me cool for a few seconds when they did, so fuck all y'all, I sucked at tennis! I was always told I'd make a good second baseman in baseball, though, cause I could pick up and throw quickly. I loved batting, and was obsessed with home runs as a kid. Some of my friends are really into hockey, but I only ice skated when friends had parties at rinks. I want to at least go to a game, though. Seems similar to the appeal of American AFL (Arena Football League), where people just constantly get smacked up against the sides of walls. Those games are great live!  What was I saying?

Oh yeah, we're aware that we're the only country that doesn't pay attention to soccer until we're already really far ahead. That's been changing in recent years, though, you'd be surprised how much of my Facebook feed is soccer posts.

You can't get on to me for this, cause this blog-within-a-blog was in my own blog. Legal blogception.Tongue Out

Rugby, turned up to 11 and more violent?! Hold on, I need to talk with whatsacow now.

I donn't think it's more violent than rugby. The way it's described is more brutal, but really I think NFL is more violent than either of them.

Yeah, the NFL has been pressured to make the sport less dangerous lately, leading to some controversy. Don't ask how, I just know Jon Stewart talks about it.

I suppose I should try that online dating stuff sometmie.  I'm not too good at that kind of stuff.

Like anything, it comes with time and practice. I may wind up just asking someone out in real life, but if that doesn't work out, it's convenient to get to know a person before meeting them, I think.

I liked that little slide thing Bruno Mars did with hhis feet when he was moving away from the microphone. He's a great entertainer. I was super excited when the RHCP came on, but nobody in the room I was in knew who they were but me!

Super Step Contributing Writer

02/03/2014 at 12:09 PM

Please tell me that's only because you're younger and there's a generation gap, cause that would make sense. There are people in my generation who don't know RHCP, and it makes me sad.

ThatKidOverThere

02/03/2014 at 12:25 PM

Nah, I was in a room with a lot of adults and a few people around my age, but I was the only one who knew them lol. I'm not the biggest fan of RHCP, but I at least know who they are!

02/03/2014 at 01:11 PM

If they're older than me (23), that might make sense. I doubt people in 40s above know them.

Ranger1

02/06/2014 at 09:35 AM

Excuse me?!!! Most people in their 40s do know who RHCP are, thank you very much!

Super Step Contributing Writer

I mostly go by what my parents know, and I'd wonder if they knew who RHCP is. Granted, 40s was a bit young, my parents are in their 60s.

I really like the half time show too but Anthony Keidis looked a little too Iggy Pop for my liking. He's 51! Maybe time to stop the shirtless routine, but that's just me

Super Step Contributing Writer

02/03/2014 at 12:11 PM

I mean, he's still pretty damn ripped, even if he is 51. I was OK with it, but I see where you're coming from. I mean he didn't stab himself with anything, so the Iggy Pop thing wasn't taken too far, but you're right that he looked like Iggy. lol

TheMart22

02/03/2014 at 12:43 PM

Oh no doubt he's still ripped. Absolutely. I just don't want him to become a caricature of a rocker is his later career. I have too much respect for their music to want that.

Just be happy they didn't come out with socks on their cocks like they once did. lol I see what you're saying, though.

Wish I had at least checked out the half-time show, but I was having a lot of fun playing Project M against my brother.

I'm sure it will get thrown up online like the ads.

A full day all around. too bad about the game though. Wehn you enjoy the halftime show more than the game itself, the NFL should know they have a serious problem here.

Honestly, I'd be more upset if they fucked up the officiating to sell more Jerseys ... NBA ...
