Double Dragon on NES is the first game I ever played and what made me want that system. I'm still playing it on occasion lol. SMB is truly a classic game though. I think my sister was the first to beat it.

Well, since I'm participating in marathon blogging this year, I might as well explain Game Log a Day. Since my life is pretty generic, I'll only be talking about games. Today I start with the game that most influenced me and made me fall in love with video games to begin with.
Journey back with me to good old 1986. I was a wee kid back then. My aunt had gotten her kids a NES system for Christmas. That was my first experience with the father of modern games: Super Mario Bros. They had gotten the deluxe system with the SMB/ Duck Hunt/ World Class Track Meet game. Needless to say, I was hooked. But it was the original Mario game I fell in love with.
After begging my mom for one all year, she finally caved and got me one for Christmas the following year. I was able to play to my hearts content. There's just something really pleasurable about the game while playing it. I must have memorized the game back then, because I blew through the game last year on my 3DS.
The original SMB holds a special place for me. I don't think that any other game has been so influential in my life.
