First official day of BaD. I was so excited and I have had so much fun reading all the blogs today. I am a little late to the party today. So this first BaD is going to be about ME!!! I want to share with all of you who I am. So I can be part of this community and connect with you guys more.

So my name is Kyle. Hello. I am in college and I am studying Wellness and Fitness. It is pretty much setting me up to be a trainer. I love helping people and I love fitness. I am a fitness nut so it is a good fit for me. I have addictive behavior thus why I am obsessed with fitness, nutrition and video games. A few more things about me.....I am a decathlete and I live alone and have a lot of emotional issues/confidence issues. I do most things on my own and I like that. I find it fulfilling. YAY!!!

So video game??? I love them. The disks and carts are awesome. Just holding them is a good feeling. Collecting things is awesome, ahhh collecting. So I like going into Goodwill and buying games for systems I don't have. Or really bad games. Just because I think they look cool and I like box art, the Genesis are my favorite. That was also my first console and fondest memories of video games and my childhood. Yea it is nothing really exciting but that's me haha a really short bio. I hate talking about myself.

If you guys want to know anything go for it, I am an open book. This is just a short bio, if you want more I can definitely do. I just need to feel like I am a part of something. And everyone on here seems really friendly so I am trying. Thank you all. I promise there will be more interesting blogs to come during the BaD. Thanks for the time guys. Nice to meet you all. P.S. I am no professional writer so hopefully my writing skills will get better.

Hey man, I just got a paper marked to hell, and I'm in grad school. We could all be better writers. My professor said my mistakes were minimal and I got a 95, but his red pen doesn't look as nice. lol Well, first paper of the semester, guess he went easy.

But hey, writing isn't everything, wellness and fitness is an awesome thing to be into. My friend just got his M.S. in Kinesiology last semester, and is training me, meaning telling me what to do and meeting him on Sundays, when my friends and I work out together, which is about all the time he has between his four jobs, including two training ones, one as adjunct faculty for the university, and I forget what else (knowing him, he could be pulling one over on me, but he is busy. lol). I have no doubt you'll go far in the same field, since you're passionate about it, which counts for a lot.

I never owned a Genesis, what's your favorite non-Sonic (not to be presumptious, no idea how you feel about Sonic, I just prefer finding out about a person's taste beyond what's most popular) Genesis game? Favorite box art (bad and/or good)?

Thanks man, Yea your friend seems really busy and I have heard that it is an industry trend. I think the early sonic was amazing but the newer stuff is just trying to cash on the name. I really liked Sonic and Knuckles for the Genesis and even the Sonic Adventure Games for the Dreamcast. My favorite games were World of Illusion starring Mickey and Donald, Rocket Knight Adventures, NBA Jam and Xmen 2: Clone Wars. The first two were solid platformers and World of Illusion had co-op so my sister and I would always play. I love the White Ea Sports boxes I think they are just really slick. X-Men 2: Clone Wars has really cool box art. I like the Golden Axe Series art, the fantasy elements are right up my alley. The look of the black grid style box art is amazing, but my least favorite design in general is the games that did not include the grids.

Yea, Genesis is super cool. I could just have a Genesis and be ok. There's games I could play for a long time and be happy with it.

I'm looking at picking up Dark Wizard for Sega CD. But I don't have that system anymore. Maybe someday though.

Yea the Genesis had all the Phantasy Stars which could keep you busy for awhile. And Shining Force. Along with the huge library of Beat'em ups and low key platformers.

What a great system. I'll be playing it in the post-apocalypse world attached to a solar pannel of my own design.

I had a Genesis way back in the day, but was always biased toward Nintendo systems. I recently found one at Goodwill though for like $5. That was the best $5 I ever spent! Genesis had a lot of great exclusives. Some of my favorites would be Mutant League Football, Contra Hard Corps, and Gauntlet 4.

Yea I am still hunting one down. It is so hard to choice between the SNES and Genesis since in my opinion they were both excellent systems. Sega definitely had awesome ads for the Genesis. Have you beaten Contra Hard Corps. It is a tough games but worth it. So much fun. I have never played any of the gauntlet series until Dark Legacy came out to arcades.

Yeah. I need a SNES. I have a FC Twin (which plays NES and SNES games) but it's not the same thing, and there are some compatitibility issues. I bought a NES again just to play Bucky O'Hare properly. I haven't beaten Hard Corps despite being a Contra fanatic. I will though. I love how there are different playable characters. Hard Corps Uprising was really good too.

I thought about getting one of those. There are a bunch that play SNES, NES and Genesis. But I think that classic look of those consoles would be much better looking in the entertainment system. Hard Corps is a little easier using the little robot since he is harder to hit and has double jump. It is kinda unfair but it works. Uprising was the XBLA game right?

I hear ya man. I had to replace the 72 PIN in my NES, but it works like brand new now. Looking at that grey box is like looking at my childhood lol. I don't know if Uprising is on XBLA since I don't have a 360, but it's on PSN, so it might be.

Yea I never had an NES but that's how I am when I see a Genesis sitting in a store. It is just so nostalgic. I fear I would probably play it more than my current gen consoles.

Yea I remember how hectic it was on 1UP but I was always to afraid to join in. I am glad I am taking that leap of faith this year.

Nice to meet you too. I must say I love all that you write haha. It keeps me entertained. And I think the Genesis is in the top three favorites for me. It had an awesome library. Mortal Kombat with Blood that's all I got to say.

Nice to meet you. You seemed nice in the comments of my blog so I thought I'd check your stuff out! The genesis was my first console too!

I used to have a really neat gaming collection, but I lost it in a house fire. Now I just keep all of my games digitally - unless it's dark souls. Need them artbooks!

Thanks!!! Nice to meet you too. I really like what you write about. Ah the console was awesome. I am so sorry to hear that. I have yet to make the jump to digital. I like having the boxes and things. But I know at some point I am going to have to make the jump to digital. Dark Souls!!!
