BaD: KOTOR2 cheapness

Ok, so seeing as my game time at the moment consists of KOTOR2 and nothing more until completion, I figured I’d share a little about that. In what may have been the cheapest victory in the history of cheap victories, I found a slight glitch which resulted in victory for the good guys.

SPOILERS FOR KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC 2

Towards the end of KOTOR2, following the part where you assemble all the Jedi on Dantooine, you are forced to take control of the character Handmaiden (name later revealed to be Brianna) to defeat five of her former comrades upon returning to Telos. This battle gives you the option of either killing your opponents (dark side) or merely stunning them (light side) by getting their health below 1/3 overall. I’ve been playing light side the whole game so that was my target. My only problem here is I never used Handmaiden, so hence never developed her character bonuses fully, and therefore was getting my ass handed to me repeatedly (apparently you can make her a Jedi like I was able to with Bao-Dur). That is until I noticed the non-movement of my opponents when I reloaded my save to the start of the fight. Enter the cheapness.

 Handmaiden

Oh Brianna, how I barely knew thee...

It turns out, following a quick google search, that this section of the game was actually removed from the original release primarily due to time constraints. It was only put back into the game by the people who developed the restored content mod. What appears to have been under developed is how the enemies react to your presence following a reload. By standing my ground and not moving, I was able to toss grenades without opposition and work their health down that way. By doing this, what was an extremely difficult part of the game became laughable. Yes, I felt unclean. Yes, I still feel cheap, but you know what, I’m a winner and us winners need to do whatever it takes to…. win, I guess.

Anyway, I’m currently 34 hours into the game having only skipped a few side missions. According to howlongtobeat.com, I should have about another 5 hours to go. Onwards and upwards.

Thanks for reading my convoluted explanation of events.

I figure if you didn't know about it beforehand it's not really cheating. Or you could just make up a small bit of story in your head that the opponents figured out what you were doing and played along in order not to get killed outright.

Sorry man I had to skip over this blog because I'm still not done with the 1st and I don't want to spoil the 2nd...I started reading and saw "SPOILERS" so I had to stop, but I do appreciate being warned Laughing

Yeah i try to be very careful with spoilers no matter when the game was released. It doesn't take much to give people a quick heads up
