D'oh!

Tuesday night and I just downloaded Metro Last Light. I'll give it a try at some point but I'm not holding my breath. I don't really play FPS's much mainly because they make me seasick. 10 minutes of bobbing up and down and I start to feel warm and dizzy and then like I'm going to throw up.

Blake mentioned that there were adjustments you can make on PC to help with that but this is on PS3 so I'm not sure I can do anything about it.

I'm grinding a bit before I take on the boss in the Humanoid Research place in Tales of Graces F. It takes a lot out of  me mashing X and O while wiggling the left analog stick.

Talk to you soon.

Yuck, that didn't taste like a lemon popsicle at all.

I've always been curious when I hear people make mention of getting nausous from video games. Do you ever get a similar feeling from movies or is it just seeing the world through someone elses eyes in FPS's? Probably unrelated, but do you suffer from travel sickness too? I'm a curious goat I am Smile

I did get seasick once when I was 12 but not usually. I think it is the first person perspective that does it.

Yeah that's what I figured. Something about your brain not understanding how your body is moving while you're sitting down or something. At least the best games aren't FPS! (IMO)

The only FPS that I really got nausous from was the XBLA release of Marathon 2.

I'm sorry to hear you get sick Pete. My cousin gets like that too. There are some FPS games I can play fanatically, but those are mostly older ones.

Yep, me too. I don't remember having a problem with Doom.

i don't get sick playing FPS, but I can get kind of crazy when I watch someone playing one.

I heard somewhere that since the motion sickness you mention is common in Japan, they've tried to make changes to accomodate for that. I have no idea what my source on that is, though.

Interesting. I never got motion sickness playing games and the closest thing would be headaches on the 3DS. Hey, it's an awesome feature, but it hurts :P

I didn't get headaches as such from the 3D but it did strain my eyes after 15 minutes or so. I usually leave the 3D off now.

I don't play FPS's that much, mainly due to my being terrible at them than any motion sickness problems.

I too get motion sickness when playing certain FPS games, its BaD! That is one BaDass pic of a Panda! I'm going to stock up on BaD now that stopped using BaD...ok I'll stop.

I've never gotten motion sickness from FPS games.  I kinda don't get how peole can sick play them, but I know it no joke when that motion sickness sets in.  Enjoy Tales of Graces!

I hear ya on the motion sickness thing with FPS games. The original Tomb Raider on the PS1 gave me motion sickness, too. Funny thing is, the only time I've ever been motion sick in real life is after two hours of plowing the parking lots at work, back when I was year-round. That has to do with the round and round and bashing into things non-stop.

I've never been motion sick in any way except for playing this:

Locoroco on a PSP while in the passenger seat of a moving car.

Welll that's awful BaD of you.

Heh, see what I did there...

...

I'm sorry.

Funny thing, I'm starting to get that feeling too with some of the FPS's I'm playing. And I lurve me some killing! I can hardly handle F.E.A.R. 2 now, almost scared to buy the DLC side mission for it.
