I don't own any last gen consoles, so just doing Steam on my laptop, buying older games for my Nintendo stuff, and gonna buy a PS4 after a price drop probably.
Sorry you have to scream at the Kinect. Yay technology.

Okay so this is going to be a real quick opinion on what I think of the Xbox One and next gen in general. Last console generation was a long one. A really long one and it hasn't ended yet. The 360 and PS3 have not been maxed out and games are still getting released for them. How about my Xbox One???? I have a couple games for them and nothing has been released yet really. Don't get me wrong, Dead Rising 3 with hundreds of zombies on screen is epic. Call of Duty looks better I think. Skylanders um looks better and Marvel Heroes looks good too. All offered on last gen consoles.
What frustrates me is that they said I needed next gen. Well why is the only reason I turn it on is to watch Netflix with my gf. I could do that on my 360. Oh wait, I forgot about the multi-tasking and Kinect. Yea its cool shouting at my Kinect to do things and when I want to search for a movie or tv show, it doesn't work like that. Okay......weird. I spend an extra hundred dollars for the Kinect essentially. And it only does the bare minimum. Now it might be the Netflix app but still I shout at that thing to get voice commands and nada. Fus Ro Dah and a picture of Skyrim should pop up.
Multi-tasking is cool. I like playing Call of Duty Online and having Pandora on too and playing both simultaneously. It is really a neat thing. I just wish twitch feed would have been up at launch.
Like I said there are just no games for it. Was it really worth spending all that money to play games that are on last gen consoles. There are plenty of games still to come for the 360. I don't think everyone was begging for new consoles. Sure the console cycle was really long but it was because the technology is still good. I like my Xbox One. It is a beast of a console. And the specs and all that don't matter to me. At the end of the day, PS4 and the One are going to be like the PS3 and 360, sure there are different exclusives and features but at the end of the day who cares as long as I am having fun with my console. And right now there is not much fun or reason to turn my console on. I understand I have a backlog on other consoles but there isn't even arcade titles to download. Put Games for Gold on the One and let me play 360 titles on my One.
That is my take on my new console. I love it but I hate it. Was it the right time for a new console generation?? Who knows but it is here. My lasting issue is that they are not pushing the consoles after launch. It is all about their console owners who have not made the jump to next gen. They have releases for a long time in the future and exclusives to last gen. If you are going to continue making games on "old" consoles, at least put them on the new ones too. Thank you all for reading and I would love to hear what you guys think of the next gen.
N64, GCN, GBC, GBA, NDS. I also used to play GameBoy, NES, and SNES, which belonged to my older brother who then got a PSX and 2 himself.
The only problem I have with Steam is convenience; I'd rather boot and go instead of having to log in to something on my computer, and I also like having physical copies, but dammit those sales!
yeah, launches are generally like that. it takes a while for them to hit their stride. But Titanfall comes out pretty soon, and after that the releases are more common, you've got Elder Scrolls online, and in the summer/fall Destiny, and what not. I think by the fall it will be nice. I'm going to get a PS4 in April I think for FFXIV and then there's some other games coming out around that time too.
The Xbone is tanking right now, the PS4 is whipping its ass, Microsoft is even mentioned releaseing a cheaper Xbone. I have also seen Get $100 off if you trade in your PS3. I really do not see a big diffrence between graphics on either system, really not impressed, but I do hope it gets better for you as a Xbone owner.
For the last two generations I bought all 3 consoles and I had a Dreamcast.
I don't own any of the home consoles from this gen and if I had the money right now it would be a Wii U. I'd pick up a PS4 later on and I've decided I'm not giving any more money to Microsoft than I absolutely have to so regardless of finances there will be no Xbone in my home and any 360 games I buy from now on will be used.
I'm worried gaming will go all digital and I will loose interest like what happend with music. I used to collect albums and make mixes and all that but as soon as digital happened, I've been less involved and don't do any collecting. I get just a few albums a year.
