It turns out that I have the greatest godson in the world.  I gave him an outdated peice of technology for Christmas and he was ecstatic, he was also speechless.  What did I get him you ask, a DS.

His older brother had one of those reactions like in the N64 freakout video, not quite that bad but oddly similar. Here is a link because I don't have tha patience to ensure a working video in this blog.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBHQYkfExVM.  Of course my nephew is a wise man because while his brother was freaking out, he uttered the simplest of all truths, "Thomas, I don't have any games."  Don't worry I gave him some games, Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros and Kirby Super Star Ultra.

Club Nintendo released the awesome case for DS/3DS games that holds up to 18 games.  I ordered one for me, and one for my nephew.  They are pretty sweet, but what is the point of all that space if you don't have any games to fill it up.  Over the course of this year I will be filling up the Club Nintendo case with games to give to my nephew.

There are two things that work in my favor in regards to filling out the case.  One is that you can find a lot of games for cheap at GameStop.  Two, I have a half dozen games already in my collection that I have grown past, but he would love.  The case is already half full, so the challenge comes in figuring out what other games to pick up for him.  He mentioned something about Zelda, but I am torn as to which one I should get him...  A Link to the Past on the GBA or one of the DS Zelda games...

I am exhausted at this point, but still have a lot of work to do in the kitchen.  Have a BaD day everyone.

Man, it would be hard to a DS collection down to 18 games. So many good ones! That's a cool idea though.

He is seven, so that helps narrow things down.  If I had to narrow down my own collection for myself, then yes that would be so difficult.

You should ask Cary Woodham about DS games for seven-year-olds. He reviews games for kids.

I'd say DS Zelda for his age, he may like the updated graphics more, but then again, he digs old tech and you know him better than I do. Rangergirl has a point as well.

Very nice. Hope your nephew enjoys the DS (which i'm sure he is).

That's so nice!

I have two of those Club Nintendo card cases, they're just so convenient.

I'd be excited to if I got a DS. who cares if it's not current tech, it still has enough gaming fun to make it worth anyone's while. Espiecally like you said how you can score some titles real cheap now. I got my wife those GBA cases and have been in the market for the DS kind that can hold a good number of games. She does have a few.
