However, there is such a thing as too many unplayed games. lol Nice haul. I still need to install Tomb Raider. This weekend, I think.

BaD #03
I finally decided to devote a BaD blog to something about video games this time around. I could go on about the winter storm I just had but in actuality it wasn’t as bad as predicted. Sure we got about five inches of snow but the real concern was the winds .Given how light the snow was there was fear of white out conditions during the day. That didn’t come to pass so all we had to worry about was the cold and snow removal. My area considered ourselves lucky, especially upon seeing what the east coast/New England was getting. (secretly I laugh with glee given my distain for that region of the US, sorry my friends who reside there…)
But enough of “The Iceman Cometh”, let’s move on to games finally!
I actually got a good number of games between the October to January months. Most I bought either from my usual funds or from gift cards I got for the holidays. Also most of them actually turned out to be digital in nature as well. I’ll share what I’ve acquired first physically then digitally from their respective networks. I’ll do my best not to be long winded given this is a BaD blog, I’m lucky enough to be able to read other people’s BaDs let alone respond to them. (Again I’m sorry for that.)
In October I got my usual Octoberween buys that were mentioned back during my Octoberween gaming blog. I won’t go into too detail on where and how much I got them for given how I’ve already spoken of such back during my Octoberween blog craze. But here’s a picture for posterity.
For December/January I got El Shaddai and Tomb Raider as Christmas gifts from my brothers back out east, along with a $15 Xbox Live gift card, which I used for some digital buys. I got Crackdown, Rainbow Six Vegas and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 &3 during a special “buy 4 for $5” deal my local “Gamers” was offering. The purchase of Rainbow Six Vegas and Crackdown might seem odd given how I already own those titles thanks to Microsoft’s “Games with Gold” offer. The reason for this is a simple one: hard drive space. Though I do have a 320 GB HD in my new Xbox 360 it’s now down to about 137 GB of free memory. If I want to be able to buy all the digital games offered on XBLA I’ll need to hold back on digital titles that I can get on a disc. Plus at $5 each I wouldn’t hurt.
Now on to the digital buys. These I’ll make short and sweet given I don’t really have pictures to post of them.
On XBLA
Ascend: Hand of Kul
Spartacus Legends
Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes
A World of Keflings
Iron Brigade
Shoot Many Robots
Sleeping Dogs
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
(All of those were free either as Free-to-Play or Games with Gold)
Charlie Murder
Missile Command
The Bridge
State of Decay
Phantom Breaker: BG
Moon Diver
(Got the rest during XBLA sales. I actually got The Bridge thanks to a review write up by Cary)
On PSN
Warhawk
Twisted Metal
Destruction Derby
(Got those for free thanks to the “Quest for Greatness” metagame in Playstation Home)
The House of the Dead Bundle Pack
(That came with HotD 3, 4 and Overkill Extended Cut)
Costume Quest
Corpse Party
Corpse Party: Book of Shadows
I Am Alive
Darkstalkers Resurrection
BloodRayne: Betrayal
Fatal Frame I-III
(Those I got during the Halloween sales on PSN, the oddest purchase of the bunch would be the Fatal Frame games given that I already own all those titles on PS2/Xbox. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to own them digitally as well if only to help preserve my physical copies.)
Marvel vs Capcom: Origins
Alien Breed Trilogy
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Hydrophobia: Prophecy
Strikers 1945 Plus
Final Fantasy Origins
Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection
Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy IX
(The Final Fantasy games along with Strikers 1945 I got for Chinese New Year. I mostly wanted all the numbered FF titles that are playable on the PSP given how their original price was around $9.99 to $19.99 depending on the game. I would’ve preferred physical copies of those games but I want to get all the FF’s I can so I can play them on my PSP on the go.)
That should do it for now. Let’s see what my next “MyBuys” blog will be like after I celebrate my birthdays! *sinister grin*
I’m really starting to show some stubble now. Not sure if you can see what “color” my beard is but I’ll explain later when you can see the difference.
Wise BaD word of the day: Gamer rule #559 – There is no such thing as “too many games.”
