This is probably a BaD Idea

In the midst of trying to come up with things to post for this BaD month, I've been considering the idea of posting music from my favorite genre-- Drum & Bass (or D&B for short).  I know, I know...most of you probably don't bother with stuff outside of the occasional listen.  But I'm really desperate to have something daily to post because I'm too mentally inhibited to come up with something more substantial to write about-- at least at the moment.

Besides, D&B isn't all that bad actually.  I tend to lean more towards artists like DJ Marky, Calibre, and LTJ Bukem, and Commix.  They make some pretty unique stuff.  I'm especially a fan of calibre because he often uses piano riffs or other instruments found in classical music.  I really fancy the stuff.  This mostly the stuff I listen to while working or writing game reviews.

But I won't bore everyone with whys and wherefores of D&B.  I'll just share the music for now.  However, if you happen to be into this sort of thing, or at least understand it, feel to talk shop with  me :-)

I never got into D&B that much but Bowie and Everything But the Girl both did albums in that style and I have those.

Eletronic music isn't really my thing, but it's good to at least listen to something new to me before decided I'm not all that interested in it. Thanks for broadening my knowledge base :)

There's really no bad genre, only bad interpreatations, and if you don't like a genre it's simply because it's not your thing.

I quite liked that song you posted. I love Electronic music a lot. Not the mainstream, David Guetta or Swedish House Mafia overblown horn gratious Electronic, but stuff like The Chemical Brothers, M83 and some others that I think know how to do beats and sounds.

I completely agree. I discovered M83 last year. Good music.

I tried listening to D&B in college, but it just wasn't my thing. Something with it just didn't click with me, but thanks for sharing what you enjoy.

I dig the ambience, sounds like it could have been a Sonic CD menu screen track.

I was getting into Kraftwerk not too long ago. I really liked some of their songs.  I guess this D&B thing is influenced by them. I'm liking what you posted.

damn! Yet another blog I'll miss out on given my system's lack of proper volume apprciatation for such works. I'll have to try to get to this later when I know I won't get into trouble. =)
