So hey guys, I think I just missed the past 3 BaD blogs. Great way to start off!
I think I severely misunderestimated (apperantly something George W. Bush said in a press conference. Oh silly George!) the amount of time that I would have to blog so I think that I'm going to back off and only do weekends like last year. I have a lot of schoolwork to do, and procrastination of schoolwork to do so blogging every day is a bit impossible for me. Today is a bit of relief because I don't have too much homework, but other days can be a hassle. So here goes:
Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album) - (1994)
Rarely do you come across an album that is so perfect in nature, that every single song on it could be a single (not including pop music that is made for radio play). Weezer's first outting is a prime example of that. If anyone asks, in my opinion, Weezer was the greatest rock band of the 90's, blending together great vocals, awesome sound, and a geek-like charm that we all love.
I love Weezer because of how relatable they are. They (at least in their early career) wrote songs that dealt with typical romance themes, but through a geek perspective that can resonate with almost anyone.
This summer actually, my friend reccomended me this album and I listend to it and fell in love. This led me to discovering a whole lot of bands and to stray away from top 40 pop, so I guess you could say Weezer introduced me to music!
The Blue Album in particular has 2 of my all time favorite songs on it. Here are those and some of my other favorites:
Say it ain't so is my personal favorite song. I just love the emotion and the transition from a hard rock to a more subtle one. It's absolutely perfect and it never gets old.
Even 20 (!) years later this album holds up amazingly. I would rate it a 5/5.
