I'm really getting into Bravely Default now and have been exploring some of the features.

One thing that I find interesting is that you can change the difficulty at any time. Big deal I hear you cry you can do that in lots of games but here's the thing.

Aside from being able to set difficulty to Easy, Normal or Hard you can adjust the encounter rate up or down and turn off experience, gald and job points. So you can see how far you get as a level 1 monk with no money to buy equipment or items, having to make do with what you find in chests or gifts from Traders. Interesting but I'm not going there. :)

If anyone else is playing and you are on my 3DS friend list please let me know so that I can summon you in battles. So far I've only been able to summon a friend from London, England. I did pick up a few people from scanning the internet but I'm not sure if they are real players or made up by the game. In any case they've infested my village with really hard to kill monsters. That's something else you can do in the game.

But teacher I'm not sleepy, why do I have to take a nap?

Heh, a londoner from Canada playing with a londoner from England. It's kinda funny for some reason.

I agree with the above posts and add that I think I'd enjoy the difficulty system.

This is the first game I've played that lets you change so many things. Personally I like levelling up and getting lots an lots of money in games. My son and I were discussing how in Etrian Odyssey you only get money from selling the things you've found and from completing quests. Monsters do not drop coins.

How could they? They don't even have pocketses.

I'm playing, but I'm not on your 3DS friend list. I've also picked up some pretty hairy monsters from scanning for people online. Well, it's the same monster really. Guess it's popular or something. My brother tried fighting it, all his physical attacks did was heal the thing.

Yes that particular monster has an ability called Gluttony. While active all attacks and magic will heal him. Best to heal and Default while he has that active. He's weak to lightning and Earth and my monk seems to be able to hurt him with claws. He has a shit ton of HP too.

send me your friend code and I'll add you. I have some level 20 attacks you can borrow.

I have the game, am I on your 3DS friend list?

I like at the beginning when you scan the AR card, and a pretty lady comes to your house to beg and plead for your help.  Only problem is she kept walking on my coffee table!  That's just bad manners!

LOL, yes you are on my list Cary. If you are playing at the same time we can summon each other. I think we can help with restoration too.

That's a rather cool idea for friend summoning. I'll need to think about this game and see how far I can level up my crew. Makes me wonder if there is a website that has listings of active players with awesome stats.
