This is just going to be a short blog today. I have talked with many people and observed how a lot of people treat their favorite games. They usually have played through it a million times, mastering mechanics and memorizing details of plot, gameplay, everything. Now I don't know how you guys do it but I am a much different kind of beast.
I have my favorite titles. I have a hard time deciding a top ten and stuff, that stresses me out. They are my favorites because of the meaning of the game at that moment in my life. What the story, characters or even just the game helped me get through. I will pick up my favorite games probably a couple times every year and play them. Just to enjoy them. I don't know the last time I have completed them. There are the few titles that I will sit down and complete them but usually I will just play those games and enjoy them. I do not know where all the secrets are. I don't know the mechanics instinctively. I just enjoy my favorite games.
When it comes to memorizing and perfecting mechanics, those games are the competitive titles. The Call of Duty, Super Smash, Mario Kart, etc. the games that I play with my team and close friends that I have to own because I am super competitive. I like that my favorite games still hold secrets for me to discover if I ever embark on their journey again. I try to at least play through one of my top ten games every year. But I like the discovering and mastering new games and challenges that take away the time to come back to my top games.
That is all I wanted to say for today. If you guys have an opinion please share. I'd like to think I am not the only one that thinks this way but it is a good possibility. Thanks again everyone who reads. Happy Gaming.
