Shinobi III was great because Joe controls in a smoother manner. everything feels pretty fluid. Not to mentoin, the graphics and were quite awesome for a Genesis game.

Shinobi III was the third Shinobi game to be released exclusively for the Genesis (the first two being The Revenge of Shinobi and Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi), and is arguably the best in the trilogy. Joe Musashi (who wears white for some reason) can attack with sword and shurikens; he can also jump, double jump, and wall jump. The game has some really cool levels, such as Joe riding on horseback, surfing, and (my personal favorite) a level where he infiltrates a lab full of mutant experiments. The game is fantastic until near the end, when things become brutal. At this point, you can choose to spend tons of time trying to master this difficulty in order to finish the game, or just say "forget it." Apart from this insane Ninja difficulty, the game holds up very well, and is considered one of the best games on the Genesis. And truly, only a real ninja can beat the game.
