Continuing my journey in Bravely Default, while aquiring some new jobs in the process. Some of the turns the story takes were unexpected, to say the least. Unless I just wasn't too swift on the uptake, which has happened while playing though other games.

My brother is still a bunch of levels higher than I am, though that's due to him jacking up the encounter rate because he wants to level up as much as possible. He also showed me this weird thing that happened to one of his characters, a monk. It seems that no matter how good a knuckle weapon he has, it's not nearly as good as their bare fists. This isn't happening to my monk, but maybe this has something to do with his much higher level.

I also accepted your friend request, mothman. Hope I didn't accidentally send a powerful monster your way like I did to my bro, I could've sworn I turned that off the last time I streetpassed him. Unlike Square who saw fit to send me a lv70 monster, when I just hit the early 30s so I'll be avioding that one like the plauge.

Back to the game I go!

Ok, bye!

Okay, this really isn't doing me any good.  I know that I shouldn't but with everybody talking about Bravely Default, I really want a copy.

Agh! I hate when everyone i talking about a game I really want that I can't play!

Sorry about that, got a little carried away there. Though I should really know better since I've felt the same way at times.

I tried to clear out one of the many Beelzbub octopus demons that were sent to my village last night. I figured at level 23 that wouldn't be a problem but he hit me with Acid Breath and almost party wiped me.

Tiz was the only one left alive so I ran and managed to get away. My monk hasn't reached the bare fists better than weapons. I just arrived at Florem.

I like being able to change the encounter rate. if I tire of fighting I can turn it off and just run around collecting chests for a while. I usually set it up by 50% in regular play and once I've beaten a boss I drop it to 0 so I can wander.

Great game. I't making it hard to go back to the two games I was playing before last Friday.

The same thing happened to me when I tried fighting it for the first time. After that I just decided that the 'rec level' indicator wasn't going to be as reliable as I first thought.

I wish the characters' names were easier to remember.  I can remember Tiz since it's just three letters.  But the black haired lady I just call her "Coffee Table Walker" because that's what she did when I first turned on the game (you know, the AR mode).  I don't have a name for the other guy yet, but I think I will call the other girl character  "Valkyrie" because that's the job I gave her in the demo version.

And by the way:

I found their names fairly easy to remember, though that's probably because I took the time to read through all that notebook you get early on in the game and almost every time something new was added to it.

I played the demo but it didn't quite win me over. I did like the town management thing and these Street Pass features are pretty cool.

sounds like this game keeps you on your toes if your not too careful with the game settings. I'm really going to have to read more into this game with all it has to offer, besides the plot.
