Busy day today, so just thought I'd pop in and give some awareness towards Energy Hook. One of the few Kickstarters I backed, it looks really good. The Kickstarter's long over, but the game's coming onto PC, PS4, and Vita. So here's why I'm excited:

The game is being made by the lead designer of the Spiderman 2 game, the one that got his webswinging so perfect that I didn't care how much of a mess the rest of the game was. The premise is that using an energy hook, which works exactly like Spidey's webs, is used for extreme sports along with jetpacks and boots which let you run on walls. You'll be pulling off tricks with these things, with objectives to complete including getting as high a score as possible. So basically, it's Spiderman meets Tony Hawk with jetpacks. Now you see why I'm excited?

Here's a trailer of it

Oh crap, I had meant to back this one, but never got around to it. Glad it got funded though because it looked really cool. Once it drops, I'll have to check it out on the Vita!

Well the coolest thing about the Kickstarter was that the goal was only a buck. This guy was dedicated to make it no matter what, he just wanted to get extra so he could add as many levels and extra animations as possible.

So many off the wall (no pun intended) and unique ideas coming out of the indie/lower budget scene.  For some reason it makes me think of Octodad. Ms. 'Splosion Man, and Trials Evolution.

I still have no clue what the fuck Octodad is exactly.

That was a great video and I am better for having watched it. So you're telling me the guy responsible for some of the best games/mechanics of my childhood (Tony Hawk) and teenage years (Spidey 2) is so passionate about a project that combines elements of those two series/games (especially the "realistic" swinging) that he only set his Kickstarter goal at $1? Tell me he can still take my money!

You can always get the game when it comes out.

Sounds like a really great idea and the guy seems really cool in the video. Hope this turns out well.

Me too. It would be a great game for us to compete in leaderboards.

Wow that is an awesome looking game, and combines elements from a couple of games I enjoyed. Thanks for sharing this, and when it's released it looks this game will be added to Mount Backlog

any game with jetpacks added makes it automatically cool. I'll need to keep an eye out for this one.
