Happy hump day my courteous and courageous companions!
To follow up on yesterday’s blog; I got my car sorted last night with new tires following the blowout. My neighbours kindly referred me to a great local shop which seemed very honest and fair. They explained the reason for the blowout, which eases my mind some sort and installed the new tires in no time. Things are already looking up for this week after my Monday blues.
On the gaming side of things: I played about an hour last night of MGS Peace Walker. As I mentioned previously, I’m playing this on the HD Collection for my first playthrough. It’s very obvious from the get go that the game was designed for portable play; short mission structure combined with quick pick up and play action. Overall I’m enjoying the experience but it’s making me slightly itchy to restart MGS4 (also Epic Greenman’s write up didn’t help http://www.pixlbit.com/blog/5771/metal_gear_solid_4_according_to_greenman). Maybe after. According to howlongtobeat.com, the main story for Peace Walker is about 18 hours long so I figure I’ll see it out. One awesome thing about the game that sets it apart from the rest of the series is the cutscenes. Instead of the typical MGS graphical masterpiece of a cutscene, these are portrayed in the distinctive MGS artwork that often features on the gamebox and in the manual. Although this was most likely introduced due to the specification limitations of the PSP, it’s a nice change of pace that I appreciate.
Yep, still a badass!
For tonight, I think I’ll probably play some more Peace Walker or maybe some XCOM. I’ll have to see what strikes my mood.
