Freakazoid!

Enough about Bravely Default (for the time being anyway), what else is going on?

So the RoboCop remake's a thing... I don't know how to feel about it really. The original is one of my favorite movies of all time, and it's something I don't think needs to be remade. The most frustrating thing is that now whenever someone talks about RoboCop they're going to have to specify whether or not they're talking about the original or this new one. Maybe I'll catch it when it hits premium cable, but otherwise I won't go out of my way to watch.

Other than that, I've been trying to catch up on my reading. Even though I'm still way behind (I don't have an exact number, but it's a lot), I'm making slight progress. Just have to make some more time for it when I can.

Ok, bye.

I definitely want to see the remake.  I haven't seen the original in a couple of years so I think that I am in the perfect position to enjoy the new one.  I was really hoping that Peter Weller would end up being the head of OCP or somthing, that would have made my day.

Well I hope you enjoy it then, cause admittedly some of the effects and action scenes looked pretty good from the trailers I saw.

Something like that would've been cool, though from what I remember from a video where he was asked about his thoughts on the remake, he wanted nothing to do with it.

Wellers makes a damn good case against the remake (although I still may want to see it)

I don't see Robocop being successful. When I first heard about it, I was interested, but as more information was released including the trailer I found myself constantly comparing it to the original (the where's ED-209, will they have silly commericals, baby food, etc)

As of right now I don't know if I want to see this film, or wait until it is released on DVD.

Just heard a quick opinion from the Filmspotting guys who saw a prescreening for press. They thought it was fun and a worthy remake.

it sounds to me if you don't compare the original robocop to the remake, it's not that bad. the new one seems to take the "The Dark Knight" approach with this new robocop in his creation and coping with the fight between what takes control as in man or machine.

but if direct head to head, orginal robocop kills.

The remake looks decent. I just kind of hate the fad of taking R-rated classic action/sci fi movies and making them "PG 13" for broader audience appeal.
