I love LOOT!!!! Plain and simple. Borderlands 1 and 2. They have lots of guns to get and lots of loot. Diablo 2. The granddaddy of Loot. The Elder Scrolls Series has a lot of loot. Other than that, I honestly haven't played that many games with tons of loot. Which is sad because I have made this a sub-genre in my world of gaming. Does it deserve it???

Sure why not. I have a really bad addiction to collecting things. I collect video games, Oakleys, arm sleeves and rubber ducks. Yea I am weird. So loot means a lot to me. Even Dark Souls I would put in this category almost. Why not right haha. I guess pretty much all RPGs have loot but I like the games with absurd amount of loot. Collecting kicks ass.

Diablo 2 was the king of this and I put so much time into this game because it was so much fun, customizable and just comparing a new sword with the sword I was using. Everything I picked up had a slightly different feature to it and that was made it awesome. That feeling of discovery and finding that new item that works perfectly with your character or you want to change how you play just to use this item. Borderlands did this to me too. All the guns, just spending hours comparing guns and functions was and is just fun for me. I like that everything has a different look and feel to it and functions just oh so slightly different. It makes you want to go through another dungeon in hoping to find one piece of equipment that is better. Risking money and life to improve my character not in level but in equipment. I like RPGs but RPGs that whore out loot is just awesome. There is a place for games that give you item and give you quests to earn stuff. But I like the freedom of I am going to do Tristrum Runs for a couple hours just for that chance of a rare piece of equipment that works for me.

That's it for me today. If you have any loot heavy games that I must try, please recommend them. Thanks for reading guys. Hi my name is Kyle and I am addicted to Loot......and rubber ducks.

I put some hours into The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing on PC which is actually pretty damn good. I'd recommend it on a sale if you need a quick fix. And of course, per your blog, it has tonnes of loot Laughing

Dishonored allows a bit of that, but more on stealing things to get money on improvements, stealing the money to get improvements and potions.

I really want to pick that game up just because it looks like so much fun. I like the art direction in that game too.

If you like Diablo, I'd recommend Torchlight II. It's pretty much the exact same thing except in a steampunk setting. I think there's a demo of it on Steam. I would recommend the first Torchlight, but the sequel improves upon it in just about every single way.

Yea I heard Torchlight is really good. Do you know of any console games with lots of loot based activities?

I think the first Torchlight is on XBLA. I don't really know of many games like that. Which is a shame cause there should be a billion of them lol. Sacred 2 might be worth looking into. It's probably not as good as Diablo 2, but I imagine it's dirt cheap by now.

Thanks yea it is a shame because it is so much fun collecting. I guess it doesn't have mass apeal since there can be a lot of menu surfing.

@aboboisdaman - I hear good things about Path of Exile. It's free on Steam.

Yeah. That was one of the first things I downloaded when I got my new PC. POE seems cool from the little bit that I played.

The loot in the form of weapons in Borderlands 2 is driving me CRAZY! There's so many stats for each weapon, I have trouble deciding which is better. Yes, you could just go by base damage, but some have elemental effects, and accuracy percentage, and rate of fire, and rarity. At one point I just went with rarity because you would think the rarer the better right? But apparently not. Sometimes a less rare item just has better stats. But then I discovered an achievement for having all equipable items be purple or higher in rarity. That would suggest it's alway better to equip rarer items, but I'm pretty sure that's not the case when you crunch the numbers. Except I don't want to crunch the numbers every time I pick up a new weapon because you pick up so many of them and I want to focus on the exploration and the fighting... ARGHHH!

Yea sometimes you just want to get to gameplay. SO many guns. So many stats. I remember doing a cave in B2 and found a chest at the end with tons of guns. I ended up sitting there for ten to twenty mins looking at guns, comparing stats and trying to decide if the gun I had was better than the guns I picked up. So many options. Game is so much fun though. It has to be one of my favorite games.

I hear good things about Path of Exile, it's similar to Diablo and it's free on Steam. I am in the process of downloading it. Some are claiming it's better than Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2.

I love Borderlands 1/2 as well. It's awesome that a random enemy can drop an awesome gun or shield.

I love Borderlands because the unique enemies have better chances at dropping better stuff but random guys can still drop awesome and useful stuff. I might be doing Diablo 3 on the consoles because I have heard very good things about them. Path of Exile, I have heard it is very good. The passive skill tree looks really intimidating.

Yea, I wonder when Diablo 3 is coming to Playstation 4. I may pick that up.

I wish it was coming to Xbox One. I might have to get it on my 360.
