New Year, people! It's getting all 2012 in this hissy! I had a pretty damn good year in 2011 which I really liked since 2010 was awful for me and I'm positive 2012 will be another great year (famous last words). Not only was this year a good year for me but also for video games. A lot of great titles came out this year and in my opinion, it was the best year since 2007. That year gave us Assassin's Creed, Rock Band, Mass Effect, Uncharted, and Halo 3, just to mention a few. It was the year that kicked off a lot of great franchises this generation. This year was like a culmination of that year with sequels that are the pinnacle of their respective series. 2011 gave us Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Bastion, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Portal 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. There are a lot more great titles that came out this year and that one bad thing about that is I can't play them all.
So I spent Christmas with family, but New Years was just in my house. One bad note to make is my computer died on me this last Tuesday. So I'm working off a little notebook now and I can't access my PC games as nothing will run on this little computer. Now the good news about this is it narrows my backlog a bit as I can focus on it. What I did wrong is I didn't tackle my backlog at all. Instead I got caught playing Soul Calibur IV and Castle Crashers again. Also, a "The Office" marathon but I digress. I love these games and I never finished leveling up all the characters. So I got caught doing that most of New Years Eve and New Years Day. So I decided to do things a bit differently today and started my backlog in earnest. I still want to play SoulCalibur IV and Castle Crashers but I will also be playing Bastion, a title I missed earlier this year. I started it last night and I'm enjoying it. It's definitely more challenging than I thought it would be. I thought it would be more of a kickback title but you need to stay on top of things. My only complaint so far is a minor one. Your character, the Kid, moves slowly in my opinion. You may as well just roll everywhere.
Well, I'm just rambling now so I'll end by saying Happy New Year, Happy 2012, and Happy Gaming!
