If you missed this afternoons Nintendo Direct stream, you may have missed some news that Wii U is getting Game Boy Advance games via Virtual Console. Now, I could have sworn I read something earlier about DS games coming to WiiU, but that wasn't brought up in the presentation, it was announced that GBA games will be released for Wii U? I can understand the logic behind this, basically it will push sales of WiiU since 3DS is doing well on its own I guess, but seriously? Seriously? Werent the Nintendo ID accounts unified in the last update? I could have sworn that 3DS eshop has GBA games already available. Will I be able to play those game I already have on WiiU?

I just checked my 3DS, and yup, I have Fire Emblem and Metroid Fusion, both GBA games on my 3DS. Will I be able to play those on WiiU with my unified account? Not really sure yet, as they only announced a few games at launch later in the year.

I really hate coming down on Nintendo. They always just do things their way, and I love their products and software, but this is sloppy. Come on guys! Get it together!

Also excited for that Xenoblad Chronicles sequal game. They showed gameplay footage and its definitely Xenoblade alright.

Oh! And did you hear about this...Nintendo is releasing a couple of eShop games for free, but you have to pay extra for the rest of it if you decide you like it. One is a submarine game which you can download now, the other is some wierd basebal game where you can haggle with a shop owner to lower in app prices for stuff. Nintendo is jumping on the Free to Play/ Pay to win model and I don't know how I feel about this. I will try the game out and report on it, being the gumshoe that I am.

So, what are y'alls thoughts on Nintendo?

Also, there is this sweet first person shooter called 'Moon Chronicle' or something, and it looks like Metroid and looks cool. [Pictured at top of blog]

Take care e'rbody! Cool

My feeling on online accounts, including Steam, which I give money to anyway: if I buy something, I should just own it, and be able to do whatever the hell I feel like with it.

No. That isnt the Nintendo way. Steam does what Nintendont. Actually, I already own games on Wii VC and I have to pay 1.50 to access them on the Wii U gamepad. Say what?

I was saying no matter what company, I don't like having to log into a service to access paid-for content, like I do with Steam.

But that $1.50 access fee sounds terrible.

The GBA games on 3DS are for Ambassadors only. Nintendo stated at that time that they did not plan to release GBA games for 3DS

Lol. As a 3DS owner and eShop user I should have known this. Derp.

I would much rather have GBA games on my 3DS than the Wii U.

Nintendo just continues to confuse me.

I don't know man, for once i'm actually excited for GBA games on Wii U, since I can't buy them on the 3DS for region reasons..... that is, if the Wii U is on Colombian region either.

I don't know if I like this option of getting part of a game and then paying for the rest. It sounds too much like a glorified demo. I do wish Nintendo brough in more of their library to the eShop on the 3DS. There are quite a few NES games I'd buy.

As for Wii U owners it sounds good, because they're getting more content for their consoles.
