Killswitch Engage - Had no idea that was the old line-up, I thought the original singer was the one used on "My Curse" and the "Holy Diver" cover. I've been hit and miss with KSE (screamed verses and sung chorus type music is hit and miss with me in general), but "In Due Time" sounds like a winner, must say I enjoyed it.

As I Lay Dying - Enjoyed this one as well, heavy, but good melody. And holy crap, this is the first one of these you posted where I've actually known some of the bands! lol

Thyrfing - I thought this was going to be power metal a la Dio or Nightwish or Amon Amarth ... then the vocals came. lol Not my type of vocals, but I do love the instrumental in it.

Final Breath - The speed and style reminded me a bit of better Devildriver songs, but with heavier vocals, and a death metal bent. Very nice. Plus insane drumming, which reminded me a bit of Terrorizer's "Hordes of Zombies."

Nile - Actually saw these guys at Ozzfest 2007, caught the end of their set. Not my style, but they win my award for "band I saw where there were the most people bleeding profusely," particularly one guy I thought was wearing zombie makeup until I realized it was his blood pouring down his shirt!

Wolfchant - Fast-tempo Power metal to end it? Excellent choice, sir. Love it.

I love the grumpy cat picture too. Has he made an appearance in Metalocalypse at any point? Been a while since I've watched.

There ain't nothing like waking up to a METAL MONDAY! I'm glad to hear the old lineup of KE is back! Yay!

I am glad to see Jesse back but, he is in four other bands. So I wonder how long the reuion will last.

I've always liked Killswitch a lot, my favorite album has been the one that My Curse was on. I learned that song on guitar and a few other ones. I love the sound of their guitars and the way they play together melding the clean sounds and heavily distorted sounds. It's super heavy but beautiful and melodic. I love the song My Last Serenade that had the old singer, and I liked the singer that was on My Last Curse as well. They've always been pretty great no matter the singer. Seeing the old singer come back is probably a fresh change for them, they seem like they're having fun.

The As I lay Dying song was my favorite. I've always loved those guys, probably even more than Killswitch. I love their guitars and drums even more. I'm going to listen to the Wolfchant song now because I bet its power metal, the band name and artwork totally says power metal to me lol, and I love my power metal so I'm going to listen to it. I just got into watching Game of Thrones and I'm loving it, so I'm in the mood for some power metal and some high fantasy.

I liked them with both singers.  Yes I threw in some Power Metal today.

Nothing better for a "Case of the Mondays" than some Metal. :)
