"Hey did you know if you spread some salt, it helps melt the snow and ice?"

I'm getting tired of hearing that while clearing out snow. Yes it's pretty useful to do that, but not when it's near metal grating that's already pretty corroded from past storms and whatnot. I'm also annoyed that while offering this 'helpful' advice, they use this very condesending tone as if I'm dumb and didn't think to do that in the first place.

Trying to take my mind off of all that snow-clearing business with some more Bravely Default goodness, though this particular sub-quest I'm on is mildly challenging. My brother was a little surprised at how I managed to almost beat it a few times at my much-lower-than-his level, he's about ten levels above me and is off to the next part of said sub-quest. Hopefully I'll catch up before too long, then it's back to the main quest!

Ok, bye.

I'm sorry you are still dealing with snow, it's finally sunny here in Texas again (as I think Travis is alluding to).

Awesome Bravely Default news though.

Is it the local news giving the advice?

No, just some people who were walking by while trying to clear a path through the nearby ice.

Hey, did you know that salt will help you melt that ice? Sorry, couldn't resist. Maybe you need to borrow a hair dryer with a really long extension cord?

Seriously, though, is the goal to remove the ice or just to make the walkway passable? Kitty litter spread on the ice will get rid of the slip factor without having to remove the ice. Use the cheap, non-clumping stuff, though. Saw dust will work, too, but it will insulate the ice and keep it from ever melting.

Bravely Default will be one of the first games I invest in whenever I get the hardware to play it on.

Thanks, but with with city ordinances being the way they are it's strange. Either that or the people handing out tickets for this kind of stuff have it out for my family, as we've gotten more than a few tickets for various reasons. So we play it safe and take the extra time to clear a path, remove as much ice as we can and spread some salt to melt the remaining bits we can't.

Ah, public walkway. Yeah, every municipality seems to target certain areas to be really hardcore about enforcing stuff like that and ignores other areas. I have yet to figure out the pattern...

I usually use wood ash from my fireplace to grit the pathway with. I didn't have to use much of it this year given how little snow we got Laughing
