Good morning fellow Pixlbits,

We're into the second half of this years BaD season and my messages box is still consistantly overflowing. I would call that a success for sure.

Jackie

Never!

I decided this morning to take today off work to see if I can finally get over this cold from the end of last week I still have. I'm still taking the usual mix of Dayquil, cough drops (Luden's Honey & Lemon today, yum), Alka Seltzer Cold and Nyquil to sleep. I'm hoping another day of rest will suffice to get me over the hill. It's not terrible but it's enough that I didn't want to venture into the office and feel miserable all day.

My weekend consisted of a heck of a lot of time of the couch because of this cold so on the plus side, I got in a lot of gaming as well as watched a lot of tv.

On Friday, I returned to MGS Peace Walker for a few missions. I got to a part where I have to destroy a tank and didn't fare too well so to speak. One thing I will say at this stage is that the game isn't grabbing me completely. I'm not exactly sure why but I think it's the story. This is my first time with Peace Walker and i'm just not as interested in it as I was with the other MGS entries. I feel as though i'm almost forcing myself to play to get whatever interesting story points I can muster from it. This is surprising as the remainder of the series is probably my favourite franchise in gaming. The gameplay is still enjoyable but so far, nothing terribly interesting has occurred. I think i'll give it a little more time to see if it picks up for me before I forget it forever. I've heard so many positive comments about this game that I want to make sure i'm not missing out. Stay tuned.

Next on my list over the weekend was Arkham Asylum. I love this game and it's still probably in my top 5 from this past generation. I finished it previously on the 360 when it first came out but decided to purchase it again for the PS3 some months back. Over the weekend, I probably put about six hours into AA and am taking my time to find as many Riddler challenges as I can. I really enjoy the amount of detail Rocksteady put into this game. It seems as though every Batman villian ever created is mentioned at some stage. For anyone who is yet to play this game, you're doing yourself a disservice if you have any interest in action orientated gaming or Batman. Really enjoyable again this time around.

Batman

Better start running...

TV-wise, as I mentioned Friday, House of Cards season 2 was released on Netflix. Really good season/show with one of my favourite season openers in a while. Kevin Spacey is amazing again and his continuned breaking of the third wall is very entertaining. The season briskly advances the story with very little downtime and ends satisfactorily. My only problem now is the time until season 3. Good problems to have Smile

The latest episode of True Detective was on HBO last night also. I certainly won't spoil anything but I will say that the show has turned in another interesting direction. It's definitely my favourite show on the air at the moment. HBO does it again and gives me another reason to keep forking over extra for the privalege.

Anyway, that's all from me for today folks. I hope everyone had a great weekend and continues being BaD this week!

I'm replaying AA on Hard and watching an episode of HoC every day. Good times.

You've much more patience than myself so. I couldn't bear to only watch one a day.

If I didn't get 296 ads to code and have to start on my research projects, or had I stayed out of my office on Friday like I should have, I'd have probably watched them all Friday, but instead I'm watching an episode per every 23 ads I code.

Haha nice one. Something to strive towards.

I've been wanting to watch True Detective, but keep forgetting to.

I'm really enjoying it so far. Would be a great box set no doubt once the season's over

Don't feel bad, if I recall correctly, GH wasn't all that into Peace Walker, either, and he's the biggest MGS fan I know.

This eases me a bit actually. I'm really trying to love it but it's just not grabbing my attention.

I need to restart True Detective from the beginning. I watched parts of the first episode, and then caught pieces here and there of the others. Thank goodness for HBO Go.

Yeah, it's definitely one that needs to be seen in order, especially with it going back and forth from modern times to the cases time. Don't worry, it's good enough that I wouldn't call rewatching any part of it a time waste.

All right all right! I'll see about those batman games! I've been putting them off for far too long. I know the second game doesn't have the VIP pass anymore so no more excuses for me.

Definitely worth the playthrough. Two really great single player games in Asylum and City. Asylum is in my top 5 games of last generation and City isn't too far behind. They're both really polished and generally well paced. I haven't played Origins so I can't comment on that. City was added to PS+ recently if you subscribe to that.
