To be quite honest, this has not been the greatest time for the Blog a Day challenge.  I have been working extra hours and have found myself with less time to write than I would like.  On top of extra hours my weekends have not been the most relaxing.  This past weekend I had to attend a Gala thing for my wife's school where they had an auction and such to raise money for updating the tech in the school.  After a couple of hours standing and mingling my feet were killing me.  Dress shoes suck sometimes. Which is why I prefer my macbeth's, but they aren't "classy" enough for a Gala.

Anyways, I got my wife an IPad Air.  It is pretty sweet, but I do not see much use for it myself.  Yes, I am aware of mobile gaming, but I have since shifted away from that in the past year.  I know that there are some great experiences to be had on the mobile scene.  I have experienced a fair amount of them.  Nowadays it seems difficult to find the truly great games in the mess of the App Store.   I will confess that I have been sucked into Puzzle Craft again.  She will put it to good use though, and is already thinking of classroom applications for an IPad.  Stuff like mirroring her computer onto the IPad and vice-versa.

I have not really been playing much.  I do not think that I even cracked open a game at all last week.  I did make sure that the used DS games that I had picked up worked, and deleted all of the data for my nephew.  That was about the extent of my "playing" until the weekend.  I messed around with PuzzleCraft for a bit and also returned to Rune Factory 4 for an hour or so.  I am really enjoying that game so far.  Being halfway through the month, I am starting to worry that I won't actually complete any games this month.  I shouldn't worry I guess, we all have had those days/months/years.

The only other thing that I have at the moment is that I have still been aching to play some N64 games...  So I ordered OoT 3D and Super Mario 64 DS.

There was one other thing that I just remembered because I was scrolling through IGNs news stories.  I am officially sold on a Wii U.  I want it, and I want it bad.  I knew that Retro would be able to do it.  Yes, I am talking about DKC:  Tropical Freeze.

I don't think I've ever been to a Gala.

It was pretty much a silent and live auction with a fancier name.

Tropical Freeze does look good. Need to check that my copy of Ace Attorney works.

I wanted to ensure that the previous owners weren't the funny types to name their characters poo and turd and shit or something else that would be hilarious.

I'm about to start playing Mario 64 again too. The N64 version. I think the DS version is better though as far as controlling the camera and what not.

I hear that the controls are problem in the DS game.  I hope that I won't have a problem because I will be playing it on the 3DS which has a analog stick thing...  unlike the regular DS.

I already wanted a Wii U badly, now even more so due to DKC Tropical Freeze.

Same here.  I have wanted one since I played NIntendo Land at the in-laws.  Now there are plenty of great games and I just really want it.

Buying used cartridges and memory cards is always interesting. My significant other once remarked that it's kind of like peeking into someone else's medicine cabinet.
