Okay, maybe the US release had a different song, but it's the same intro.

Yep, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is oficially on Steam.

Back in 2009, I saw a review on Gametrailers of this game, and I was very amazed by the animations and the intense combat. But since I didn't have (and still don't) a PS3 or a 360, I thought I would never have a chance to play the game. That was until a PSP port was released the next year, though I didn't buy the game until even later around March of 2011, and even did a blog detailing my first impressions back in 1up.

Though the PSP port wasn't as intense as the console versions of the game, I still really liked enough to consider the game one of my favorites on the PSP. I really liked how the combate was done and the story believe it or not is actually great.

I still hope to play the real thing someday, and just when it came to Steam, I couldn't hold myself and bought the game yesterday still in promotion and with the bonus of the digital soundtrack. I'm gonna wait and don't download the game yet, as I want to get a 360 controler, though I can try if the keyboard is a good option.

Nevertheless, i'm happy and maybe with enough support, we can get Continuim Shift and recently released Chrono Phantasma on Steam.

I was thinking about buying this one on Steam. I had the first BlazBlue on PS3. It was pretty cool. The only thing I didn't really like was how all of the characters felt completely different. Looking back, that seems like an idiotic reason to not like a game lol. I couldn't imagine playing it on a keyboard.

I can see how that can turn off some people, but I think the difference between characters really ad variety. If you feel uncomfortable with a keyboard, I think the game supports controler.

You should. It's very sweet and if you like 2D fighting games, you can't go wrong with this one.

Who's your favorite BlazBlue character?  Can you guess who mine is?

Mine is Taokaka, followed closely by Litchi, Rachel, Ragna and Tager. I think i've heard you say Kokonoe was your favorite.

Nope, it's Litchi.

it must suck trying to play a fighting game with a mouse/keyboard. I can't even fathom. Best indeed hold out for a game controller.

Yeah, it's very uncomfortable. Fortunately, I found a 360 PC control on a store near where I live, so I might buy it soon when I have time.

I need to get Extend at some point.....I just felt burned that even after buying Calamity Trigger amd Continuum shift, neither were the definitive version. But I guess that's just the nature of fighting games in general!

It seems likely Ark will also bring Continuum Shift because the first game seems to be doing well enough to even have trading cards, so hopefully we could not only have the second game, but also the complete version with all the characters without DLC.
