So today I was wondering to myself about the winter olympic games in Sochi. I myself am not a fan of the olympics. I never quite got into them. Sure you've got the great events like hockey games and what not, but I never could attach myself to watch the events.

Maybe it's me...Maybe I'm not alone. I like the trimphs and stories that go with it. The abilities and atheletes that participate are some of the best around. If you think about the olympics you think about how grueling they can be. Training and training for years in order to qualify and then try and make the cut to get into must be difficult.

I appreciate the olympics, but can't find time to invest. Sure I'll check the medal count or updates every now and again like most people do...but like I said can't find the time to sit and watch. So maybe if I was able to actively watch...I might be more akin to be a fan. Anyways that's just a small musing for today. I just wonder if anybody else has been watching or has similar feelings? Comments  and feedback are always appreciated.

Even if i'm more of a summer guy, I had caught some events of the current Olympics and I had enjoyed seeing them. I just need to enjoy them while ignoring the problems Russia is facing right now.

Yeah the problems are apparent, but I think if you tune out of the political commentary and take the olympics as a worldwide spectacle of sportsmanship then we all can enjoy it.

Yes, that's the better mindset while seeing the Olympics.

I usually don't care about the Olympics overly much, but I do enjoy watching aesthetically pleasing events like snowboarding, figure skating, etc. and diving in the summer.

I actually watched some of the slope skiing yesterday, cause it was on the treadmill. I can't get NBC on my TV, though, so I mostly haven't watched. I streamed it for a few seconds in my office yesterday, until I noticed you can only stream for a limited time unless you have certain cable packages, of which I have none. I have an antenna.

Yeah I have learned to live without cable now that I only have netflix and hulu. But I do like the certain events and others not so much. I'm mainly one for the hockey portion, but not so much curling.

I've been watching on and off. I watched the women's hockey today because Canada was playing. I was actually working on a presentation at the same time so I was only half watching. We won which is always good.

I definitely don't go out of my way to watch but if it's on then I will.

Yeah I tried to get in one year, but then I stopped watching and just got less and less motivated to tune in.

I never got into the Olympics but there are some pretty amazing athletes competing in them.

Undoubtedly. I always have tremendous respect for the atheletes who put themselves under that stress.
