Despite it having the blandest title of any ninja game, NC is a strange yet unique beat 'em up for the Neo Geo. The two main protagonists Joe and Hayabusa (sound familiar?) set off to defeat the evil ninja clan known as Kage Ichizoku. These two dudes appear to be twins, which is similar to the Double Dragon brothers. Their objective is to get to the giant tower that has risen out of the ocean. Along the way, they'll use plenty of weapons, including katana swords, shuriken, nunchakus, maces, ratchets, battle axes, and spiked clubs. The most unique part of the game is that three of the bosses, after being defeated, will join your team as playable characters (these three are depicted on the box art). NC is not a highly praised beat 'em up, but it's still a pretty awesome ninja game.

I've played a lot of SNK games but I don't seem to remember this one. If I played it, it wasn't very memorable to me.

It's available on the Wii Virtual Console if you have a Wii. Otherwise, you could try emulation.

I may look into getting it on VC, but I'd rather get it for my MVS. I usually see it around $40-$50. I would like to spend around $25.

I actually bought DD5 way back thinking it was a beat 'em up, only to find (to my dismay) that it was a fighting game! It's terrible! Just terrible.

I enjoy fighting games, it's one of my favorite genres where beat-em-ups are lower on my gaming totem pole, so there's that.
