Another Game Off Mount Backlog

I am on a roll! I have taken another game off Mount Backlog, and right now, I’m just playing various parts of it to unlock all the little extras.
Yep Lego Batman 2 on the Vita, or what I like to call it, Batman Lite. Let me explain, if you played the console version and then the Vita version, you’ll notice a lot of the gameplay has been removed (probably because of the limitations of the format), as well as the step down in quality of the cut scenes, and the removal of the free roam. Does this make this game bad? No it does not, it is a very solid game without all of these subtractions but if you took the same path to play this game, you’ll feel a little cheated at first, but as you progress in the game, the feeling goes away.
The first thing you will notice is the option screen, which is very similar to Lego LotR, so it wasn’t a big shock to me. What I did find different from LotR was that this didn’t have the mini free roam, instead you were sent to either continue the story or sent back to the Batcave
From the Batcave it was almost like the console version. Run around collect studs, and have the ability to access different features of the game including one that was new to me, Just League. In Justice League you take on waves of enemies with different characters. I only tried a little bit of this and from what I played it was enjoyable. It reminded me of one of the Onimusha games where you were sent into a portal, took on some bad guys and learned something (it’s been a couple of years since I’ve played any of the Onimusha games, so the details are a bit hazy). I tackle more of this once I unlock everything from the main gameplay.
The gameplay was good old Lego Batman. The levels that were included were close to exact as the console versions, without a few of the special things, and some things added. The way the game was laid out, you really can’t tell that somethings were omitted, and that is a major plus. I did find a new way to play, in that I would pick up various characters and throw them at enemies or my partner. I don’t know why this is funny but it is, this is how I finished off most of the final couple of levels.
Red Brick Fun Stuff
When I wasn’t tossing enemies at my in game partner I was looking for the red bricks and canisters so I can unlock all the goodies that make free roam that much more fun (Yep you read right, I didn’t use any codes to unlock anything) I tend to go after the red bricks first, and unlocking “must need characters” so I can unlock various character specific obstacles. My favorite is unlocking the stud multipliers so buying more of the pricey options isn’t a chore to collect every stud on the screen.
After I do most of that it becomes a let’s go find all the other randoms in game. I don’t think the game has all the characters available from the console game, but there are a good number of them (I haven’t unlocked everyone yet, I’m short a couple) but in the console game, I really didn’t use everyone, I stuck to handful of favorites and that was it.
Lego Batman 2 is a lot of fun, and packs the Vita with as much console goodness as it can. I’m still not a fan of the Lego games with voices but the recordings on this game are much better than LotR, I did like the dialogue between Batman, and Superman. Lego Batman 2 is a good game, and worth the $20 price. I give it an A.
Last night on the Simpsons, they had a storyline where Grandpa Simpson in his heyday was heel in Professional Wrestling. There was a tie in for this in Tapped Out, where EA released a special version of Grandpa Simpson as “Gorgeous Godfrey” which is a takeoff of Gorgeous George. Of course being the Simpsons, they had a zany storyline that gets to this point (loved the Storage Wars spoof)
I like how EA connects the Tapped Out game with the episode (they did this before when the Hipsters moved to Springfield). In my other Tapped Out news, I finally unlocked one of the funniest characters in the show
He does random things like eat crayon sandwiches, and he completes the kids in Springfield
I am currently building the last special unlockable building, and after that it’s just collecting taxes, handing out jobs, and waiting for the next update (I’m cool with this)
The Simpsons take on the Harlem Shake
Speaking of television, one of my favorites is back
Celebrity Apprentice All Stars is on, but I do think there were better choices for All Stars
And of course I think Adam Carolla would have been hilarious on this show.
*Show Spoilers Ahead
There were a couple of things that stuck out about last night’s episode
- 1. How in the hell do you pick Omarosa to be on your team. She is out for herself and yet people still trust her. I would have picked Gary Busey before her, because crazy Gary Busey won’t screw you over
- 2. Brande fears Omarosa. I like to say that she’s gonna be booted early, but Donald likes having the Playmates around
- 3. As much as I don’t like Piers Morgan, dude went after Omarosa every chance he could get. It got comical after awhile, and I was waiting for Trump to ask him how was the weather, and his response would have been “it’s sunny but not bitchy like Omarosa” He should be on every week because of this.
- 4. Brett made two big mistakes (picking Omarosa, and letting Brande be Project Manager) and it cost him
- 5. Five Omarosa references!!! Four calling birds…
- 6. I think Trace’s team should throw a challenge just to vote out Stephen Baldwin. Dude holding back money is just shady. Don’t have rich friends, then bust your ass doing other work
- 7.I’m waiting for Lil Jon to go Dave Chappelle
8. My final four: Penn Jillette, Omarosa, Claudia Jordan, and Dee Snyder with Omarosa winning
Well that’s all for now, more later!

Random Thought: While setting up this blog, I don't care for the new Photobucket layout, and ruining my numbering system. I need a new picture hosting site.
