Well finally Thursday is here, and USA vs. Canada in Women’s Hockey for the Gold Medal starts in an hour.
USA! USA! USA!
Hello Pixlbit! Can you believe it, BaD is almost done, but there have been some interesting stuff going on. For today’s Random Week entry I thought I would write about a game I started playing last night while watching the Ladies Short Program. I was waiting for Team USA’s Ashley Wagner
During the Team Skate competition, she had a less than favorable score on the same short program where she did her own “McKayla Not Impressed” face and used a nicer version of the words cow poop.
Well she was back and I waited to see if this would happen again. Her performance was towards the end and once again her scores were low but this time she did this
So while watching these ladies skate, I discovered a new game while answering the red bubbles on my phone. Turns out on my Starbucks app I had a bunch of different games for the iTunes freebie of the week, but this one caught my attention because it was described as simple pleasant game. This usually means the early stages are easy and then you’re going to have to work on figuring out a strategy for the later levels. It was free so it’s worth a try, right?
Lyne is a simple game. Match shapes in a grid using paths that can’t be crossed. The end shapes have an extra shape inside them and are multiple colors to separate them from the normal pieces. When you start connecting the shapes, they play this tones that almost sound like digital bells, which I thought was a nice touch, but something I really wouldn’t notice considering I usually play these games with the volume set to zero.
As you progress the puzzles become more challenging, which requires more strategy and often times trying different paths to advance.
I left off my game here. The blue Octagon shapes are shapes that have to be crossed in order to advance the game. You have to cross each of them twice, which throws a nice wrench in your planning especially once you get into a groove.
Level select is similar to other casual puzzle games seen on the tablets, where each level within a group can be replayed individually.
Lyne is a simple casual game that provides quick gaming. The pastel colors are nice, and the tones and simple animation add a nice touch to a fun game. I noticed on the Android store that it is $2.50. That is a little steep for a casual game, and on iOS it is $3.00. If you can get a Starbucks freebie card for this game I would say go for it, if you are looking for a casual game I would say skip it until there is a sale. Lyne would be an easy buy at a $1, especially for this type of game.
That’s all for now, more later!
