Favorite toys from my past...

Everyone had a favorite toy when they were a kid, you had alot but there was either a few or one that you played with the most. I had a few that I loved playing with, alot of them are ones I no longer have. And sorry no links today, the link feature isn't working for me.

And with that out of the way, here are my favorite childhood toys:

Hot Wheels: I loved cars as a kid, it's probably because my dad loved them too and that must of influenced me. I loved toy cars too, I had alot but none of them compare to Hot Wheels in my opinion. I mean there were Match Box and Micro Machines which were awesome, but Hot Wheels have always been my favorite. I loved their realistic cars but loved their made up imaginary cars. I remember my first one was a Batmobile, I think it was from Batman TAS. I don't have it anymore though. They also have famous movie cars too. I have a few from movies still in it's packaging, like the Arkham Asylum Batmobile and the Adam West Batmobile.

Legos: The worlds most popular toy and probably the worlds most famous building blocks. I never had too many Lego sets as a kid to be honest, I had sets from the Alpha Team and loved them, I had the helicopter set that was 20 bucks, I loved it. I bought a couple of more sets, I think it was a submarine, some smaller submarine thing, and his sort of scuba robot suit thing. And had the giant squid and shark from the same series. Those sets also had different vehicles you could build appart from the one on the box, you could even combine them. I also had one of those bucket things that only has Lego pieces in it to just build stuff. I tried making new stuff from the Legos I had. One of my other favorite sets were the Bionicle sets, those were freaking cool, me and my brother had all six from the first series all six from the second series. I had all the ones that could combine with the red guy. I don't have any Lego related thing from my childhood right now but might buy the Back to the Future set or a Lego Batman one.

Super Hero Action Figures: I had alot of action figures back then, mostly Batman and Spider-man ones but they were fun. I had a few from Batman TAS and from Spider-man TAS. I do remember alot of them having stuff they didn't need, that's one thing I hate now but companies know that kids will buy them.

Pokemon: The most popular franchise from the 90's, you couldn't go anywhere without seeing Pokemon everywhere. I loved Pokemon then and I still love it now. I had alot of Pokemon toys as a kid, they were small but they were awesome. I had alot, they usually came in sets of 2 or 3 depending on the evolutions of the pokemon. They sometimes packaged them in a set of 5 figures. They even had some of the main cast as figures with their signature pokemon. I had an Ash that came with Pikachu. Later on they released an articulated Ash that I got. I no longer have that Ash but gave the Pikachu to my brother. I also had a remote control Cubone toy, it moved it's hands and skull when it moved, it was cool, and being curious about that, I tried to take a peak to see it's face. But nothing. Well played Game Freak.

Transformers: With Transformers you're getting a 2  for 1 deal here since you're not only getting an action figure, you're getting a vehicle as well along with accessories all for a reasonable price. Heck sometimes the Transformer is a triple changer, and sometimes they come with trading cards and comics so you're really getting your money's worth. I've always loved these toys, I got my first Transformers near the end of my childhood but I kept buying them because they always held my attention with the transformations and loved the idea of vehicles turning into robots. Heck I still love them, I still plan on buying some and I no longer have my first Optimus Prime. I at least want to get one from the ones I showed on my last blog.

Mario Kart 64: Video Game toys to me are a rarity. Sure we have alot now but back then there wasn't alot. I remember going to a swap meet with my folks back then and those places sometimes sell good stuff. I happened to come across this booth that sells toys and action figures and right there, hanging on this pole was a Mario from Mario Kart 64, brand new in it's packaging. All the toys they had were new. That Mario, I had to have it so I got it with my allowance. They also had a Bowser from MK64, it looked cool but I only had enough for Mario, I only wanted Mario anyway. I took it everywhere with me as a kid, sometimes I could only take the figure without the kart. I remember we also went to Mexico that year by plane, I took my Mario with his kart and Koopa Shell, I managed to sneak it through the metal detector. I played with it in the plane and I fell asleep. When I woke up one of Mario's hands was missing I looked everywhere around my seat but it was under my seat. I was glad that I found it. I took good care of it, but my brother accidentally broke it's head off, then at some point he broke one of the pegs from it's hand. I was angry at that, I tried fixing it with crazy glue. Later on I found a Wario, a DK, and a Luigi from MK64 and got those too. Luigi was the most expensive one I had. I even had a Banjo from Diddy Kong Racing. I loved those toys so much, but lost them over the years. I would love to buy them again but they are ridiculously expensive. I miss them though.

Matchbox cars were a toy for me too. This was one of my favorites.

It's a Dodge Dragster. It's so cool you can look this stuff up online.

Only toy lines I got into as a kid were Star Wars and Transformers.  After that it was just video games all the way.

Those Batmobiles are cool. I used to collect Corgi cars as a kid. I had the silver james bond Aston Martin with an ejector seat and a shield that popped up at the back. My mum gave it away to my best friend when we moved from England to Canada. :(

As a kid my favorite toy was this fun construction set that I can't quite remember the name of. I think it was Mottix or something like that, the best part of it was that you could create so many different things using the assortment of bricks and connector pieces, it was just so great.

I too liked Hot Wheels and LEGOs, but I think I had more K'Nex. I had a couple Power Rangers action figures, but my brother had more action figures I think, like Ninja Turtles.

I had more Pokemon cards than toys, but the ones I did have were often from Burger King. BK used to have plastic Pokeballs and gold-plated (not really) cards inside or maybe plushies. My mom actually makes yarn Pokeballs for her grade schoolers.

I have a lot of toys from fast food kid meals.
