Hello Pixlbit! It’s the final stretch of Blog A Day, you guys doing well? Any gas left in the tank? If there isn’t finish strong anyways! For the final week of BaD I thought I would jump into the theme of Grab Bag. It could be mini blogs of ideas that didn’t fly for BaD, and extra things I might have missed…plus it’s a nice way of saying Randoms II. So let’s get this Grab Bag Week Started!

1 Year Here At Pixlbit

A blog within a blog. Next year it will be a blog within a blog within a blog

Well Pixlbit I’ve called you home for a year. So far I’ve met a lot of interesting people, had awesome discussions, read & watched a lot of interesting content, and overall enjoyed my time here. When 1Up decided to call it a career, I was ready to just have a stand alone blog, but thanks to you good folks I found an awesome community. Cheers to you Pixlbit folks who put in a lot of work for creating a little piece of the Internet where we can talk about our hobby. Thanks Pixlbit!

Goodbye Olympics

The Olympics had their Closing Ceremony last night and overall it was fun to watch the different countries compete, watch sports I wouldn’t normally watch, and get my Curling fix. There needs to be more Curling on TV, and better Curling games on my tablet!

Good to see the Olympics has a sense of humor poking fun at the Opening Ceremony (there is a cool .gif online but Photobucket is being isn't working right, which is a major shock to no one)

Team USA’s Closing Ceremony outfits not as flashy as the Opening Ceremony.

I can’t wait for 2016 and the Summer Games in Rio. USA! USA! USA!

Started The Lego Rebuild

Well I waited until last weekend to start rebuilding what my baby cousin took apart. Currently at least 20 sets are sitting in various stages of being dismantled and built into something completely different (props to the 4 year old mind for creating some interesting things).

This is what was left of my Lex Luthor Power Armor Suit. After searching for various parts it is back to normal

There is one missing piece that I replaced temporarily with one I already have until it appears (it’ll probably be found on another set)

Speaking of Lego, The Vancouver Canucks had this on their webpage, which is freaking awesome!

Lego should make this happen with all the NHL teams. Their last NHL sets weren’t bad but they could be better.

JRPGs have big swords, LEGO hockey players have big sticks. Oh yeah! Love it!

We should have a big closing ceremony for the end of BaD! Flag carrying, pagentry, Snee's music, a frickin' awesome trailer of BrokenH's indie game Gutterdelve. Aw man that would be cool. I think I'd cry.

I've gotten into a really good mindset of thinking about the next day's blog the previous night. I want to continue that; only, I think that would be too many blogs to be tolerable over the whole year, So I'll have to think of something...

I like the idea of a BaD closing ceremony. It woud be a fitting way to end this year's BaD, especially with all the interesting content that I got to read this past month.

You should save those ideas, and do a blog two times a week. Having a blog every day would be a lot of work but it would be fun to read.

It's been about a year since I joined Pixlbit, though I didn't start blogging and becoming more active until December or so.

That Luthor power suit is bad-ass. As for "being a lone blogger" that would have probably been my fate as well. I have not really connected and bonded with any other places quite like I did with 1up and Pixlbit!

It is a nice set. Lego designers did a good job.

Yeah the lone blogger would have filled the need to write about our hobby, but not having the interaction with others would have sucked.

The community is best part about having blogs. Communicating with others, finding new games/music/and other media is what makes places like Pixlbit tick.
