Many of you know of my love for Realm Reborn, I played it when it was in Beta on PS3 and I have been enjoying it on the PS4. However I might not be getting it, atleast not the collectors edition like I previously wanted. I cant justify the 80 bucks, not after what I read. Now yall know I dont judge a game by a review from someone, If I like what I see in gameplay and what I read Ill give anything a fair shot. The reviews Im holding against Realm Reborn arent about the game itself but the customer service of Square Enix. Several people have taken to forums and reviews to pass on how Sqaure handles game problems, especially hacked accounts and I dont like it. What happened to them is they got hacked and when Sqaure noticed the behavior of the hacker that goes against the games terms they banned the persons account. Now this is common place in MMO's I know but when it takes 2 months to get back into the game, theres a problem. Blizzard it normally only takes one ticket/phone call and they get you back on in a matter of minutes as long as customer service is open. Atleast for me they have, Square isnt handling things well on their end. "Well Nicole are you seriously that worried you will get hacked?" Yes, because let me say this, I normally always do atleast once in a MMO. I got hacked even when I had the darn Athinucator or whatever WOW called it. Hackers learn the tricks to get by all that crap. I cant justify 80$ bucks if I have a risk of being banned with no chance of playing or getting back on for 2 or more months since Square cant handle their crap correctly not to mention it would prolly take ten thousand contact trys to get the process going. Getting a hold of Square to get the problem solved is a problem in its self too. Especially when I know it will happen because it always does,lol! Ill prolly buy the $40 Standard Edition, It will suck missing out on the awesome extra's of the Collectors but I rather play it safe then fucking sorry down the line....

I hate how Customer Service these days is so impersonal. I don't understand how they don't realize I'll calm down much faster if there's an actual person in front of me to smack in the mouth.

It is ridiclous, I swear more people who shouldnt work customer service work in it. Im right there with you, id def calm down faster if that as an option,lol!

yeah Joe is right customer service is bad everywhere these days.  IT sucks. 

I'm going to get back into Realm Reborn soon I hope.

Well I hope when you do you have no problems Snee, I still plan to play it but Im playing it safe by buying the standard edition once it releases. Honestly, people forget that in customer service its their job to help the customer out and do whats needed to fix the problems.

You have a right to be mad. It should not take them that long to resolve your problem,Nicole. Luckily, I've never been hacked in an online MMO but that's because I do not play many of them.

Im not excatly mad about it since it hasnt excatly occured yet for me with realm reborn, its jsut a concern to consider with the game. It did happen with WOW and I was damn well pissed. I had the lil mobile app that generated a code that you had to input to sign on and I still got hacked. Thats why I dont believe your def safe against hackers with anything. They figure shit out easily,lol!

I was a bit put off with how they handled just about everything with this game. The first time they put up a notice that accounts may have been hacked and that we should change passwords kind of freaked me out. It is there responsiblity to stay on top of that shit, especially if I am paying a monthly subcription to play their game. I plan jump back in in the summer once the tourist season here tames down and I have more time to play. The collector edition deals can be bitter sweet, sorry to hear you have to scrap your plans.

Im hopeing maybe in the coming months things on the game will slow so that a fear of hacking wont be an issue. I just dont want to put 80 something dollars into something to get banned because they dont have good security over the game to begin with. Im glad you didnt get hacked though! Alot of people who have experianced this problem hated making the choice of leaving the game for good but thats how far Square pushed them.

I was lucky in not encountering hacking problems or having to deal with Customer service in this game I guess. I finished the main scenario in a few months, roughly the cost of an actual full game at launch in subscriptions, so I was happy. It is one of my fav MMOs and FF games, although it isn't considered to be a part of the main FF series by many.

Im glad you didnt have any problems and that you enjoyed it. I'm still planning to play it just not gonna pay what I originally was for it. Its a great game, it actually helped Square recover ground they lost finicially so it def has been a good seller and successful launch! Just Customer Service needs worked on....

Paying $80 to get your account hacked sounds pretty shitty to me lol. I didn't know hacking accounts was a big issue in MMOs. Then again, the only MMO I ever played was Ragnarok for like 15 minutes.

It def can be a big issue, normally it depends on how popular the MMO is. WOW and Realm Reborn are pretty popular so hacking can be pretty common in them. I dont mind paying 40 and it possiably happening so the standard edition will be what I buy,lol!

Geez that is terrible, and that's how you lose loyal fans. You would think Square Enix would know that this problem exists and now have such terrible customer service to handle it. It sounds like Blizzard understands what good customer service is.

It's a shame that people who don't try and cheat the system are the ones that get burned by the few.

Square is on a roll with losing customers, I swear ive spent the last few days on the site just oberving the madness. Blizzard has been in the MMO world for so long now that they know getting hacked is a common thing and have since learned the best way to hande it. Square on the other hand needs some advice and pointers.

I know the quote has a meaning about things more serious then hackers and cheaters but this can still describe them. Some people dont give a shit about anything, they do what  they want even if it causes pain and hardship on others. Karma will get them though, she always does!

I played FFXI for years.  Loved the game and I still have friends I met in game.  SE handled hacking really poorly on FFXI.  I don't see them getting better.

Thats sad to hear :( I didnt know anything about FFXI since I never got to play it. Im glad to see that didnt stop you from enjoying the game. Gives me some hope for Realm Reborn.
