This is one gorgeous game! It's delivered in a beautiful 2D hand-drawn appearance, and in motion. . . wow! The game involves two characters: Kisuke, a young amnesiac ninja, and Momohime, a young princess. Each one has a unique story and style of fighting, but their paths do cross in each story. Muramasa is a hack and slash game, many times giving you hordes of enemies to take down at once. Swords are of the utmost importance in the game; you can have three equipped at a time, and there are 108 to collect throughout the course of the game. Muramasa is an intense, fun, and challenging game. More than anything, it's a game of beauty, and you have to see it in motion to appreciate it fully.

I didn't like this game and I really wanted to.  I really wish pressing up wasn't jump.  That always annoys me outside of a fighting game.  It is a beautiful game though.

I know what you mean. I never played this, and it does look stunning, but I hate pressing up to jump in platformers. That should always be a button. Is there no way to change the layout, though?

It's been a while since I played it.  From what I remember, you can press a button for jump, but up is still jump. Laughing

Well if you can press a button, I'm fine with that actually.

My problem with it is that if I accidentally press up, then the character jumps.  I have big hands.  I will accidentally press jump. Cry

I wanted to get this when it first came out, but I was strapped for cash and forgot about it, thanks for reminding me.

Muramasa is a great game.  Kind of reminds me of a more arcade-y Odin Sphere.  It also makes me think of Legend of Kage for some reason.

Well the reason it reminds you of Odin Sphere is because Vanillaware developed that game too, but perhaps you already know that. I think it would be awesome if Vanillaware made "Legend of Kage 3" and did it in this style. Sweet!

Yeah I knew that.  Have you ever played Dragon's Crown?  It's VanillaWare's  most recent game.

No, but I've heard it's quite remarkable, and once again, rendered beautifully.

I still need to play this. I wish more games would go with this kind of wonderful artwork. By the way, not that this affects you, but Muramasa has also been rereleased on the Vita.

You haven't played this yet??? Get on it!

I head about the rerelease for Vita, and that's awesome. The more ways people can experience this great game, the better.

It looks and sounds great on the Vita. The gameplay also lends itself well to an handheld.

I got it day-one. It's really cool, but I got stuck on a boss. Then I got the Vita version. I still haven't finished either one. When I have time for sure. It's a gorgeous game.
