Happy Friday mes amis!

We’re here, the final day of BaD. A month in which I completely surprised myself by actually managing to blog every weekday. Much success! I think we can all agree that this month has been a huge success and has really brought the site to life. I know I, for one, am going to continue my increased involvement and activity, albeit not posting a blog a day. I hope everyone’s enjoyed the month as much as I and now we can all look forward to next February for the next one.

Back to XCOM. So far my restart isn’t going as well as I had hoped for. I’m starting to see a trend here. On what was only my third mission, I lost my wife. That is, the support trooper I renamed as my wife, got flanked by one pretty sneaky alien and blasted to bits in one fell swoop. Ugh. Try explaining that to the missus. I lost my heavy assault trooper in the same mission but my sniper was able to save the day in the end. I’m being really careful during each move but I’m not great at anticipating the aliens movements yet. I’ll get there hopefully but for now, I’m concentrating on building up my base the smartest way I can think. I know it’s important to get satellites launched so I’m focusing on building what’s required for that as well as researching alien technology. I’ve not started the best but I’ll keep on motoring along. I plan on pumping quite a few hours in this afternoon following work so by the end of the evening I’ll have a better idea if I’ve improved.

In other news, I see that the 2013 Tomb Raider is coming to PS+ next month. I’ll definitely check this out as it’s a game that has tempted me for some time. I’m hoping it lands towards the end of the month to give me time to finish up my Arkham Asylum replay in advance. Everything I’ve read about the game seems great and I’m looking forward to experiencing it for myself.

Thanks for reading again today folks. In fact, thank you reading my blogs all month! I hope you’ve enjoyed some of the shite I tend to spout and continue to lend me your opinions in the comments section.

Keep being BaD!

Later

yeah it has been a big success.

You're really making me want to play Xcom again.  Such a damn fine game.

It certainly is fine. I, on the other hand, am not damn fine when playing it Smile

I really liked the new Tomb Raider, even if there were a few too many QTEs at the beginning of the game. I didn't finish it, though got to a level that was just one wave of enemies after another and I kept dying. I need to go back and finish.

I'm ok with QTEs so that shouldn't bother me. If the story holds me I expect I'll finish it. I've read that Lara's development/growth is done pretty well so i'm hopeful

I've definitely enjoyed this month of blogs. It's always fun to see what people come up with. Here's hoping BaD 2015 is even better.

BaD hasn't finished for me until I do my last blog, so I gotta start as soon as possible. Oh and yeah, BaD was great this year. I'm glad I acepted the challenge.

I'm glad to have taken part in BaD this year, as well as a little surprised I made it without missing a day.

I actually blogged the Sunday before BaD started officially to say I wouldn't be participating as there was no way I could manage to blog every day. So much for that Tongue Out

I'm also re-playing Arkham Asylum and going to boot Tomb Raider back up soon. If nothing else, TR is visually impressive, and I say that having only the minimum graphics card to run it on Steam.

Thats nice to hear. No fancy hair effects that you're playing with so?

Her hair does not seem fancy, so I suppose that is what I'm missing out on with my minimum graphics card. Well, drat. Now I just don't know how I'll be able to play it at all.

I know right. Without her hair flowing behind her, how could you ever judge a jumps distance? Madness I tells ya

I need to start playing my copy of Tomb Raider soon.

I've heard good things. According to howlongtobeat.com, the main story lasts about 11 hours or 15 with extras. That's not too much of a time commitment at least.

I'd a lot of fun and once I got over any lack of blogging confiidence I may once have had, it was pretty easy to keep up posting for the month. You should totally go for it next year again!

And yeah, I hope you enjoy it too! I hear there are some pretty grim set pieces so should be interesting

Congrats on being among the few to survive BaD. I doff my hat to thee.

That's why I don't name any video game characters after my wife. I don't hear the end of it if I let her die.

Haha yeah she didn't last long.
