I hope you have a good one yourself, I gotta get started on my MaD blogs today.
BaD Hangover -- The Future in a Post-BaD World

Well, I think we can say BaD was a rousing success this year. Not all of us finished a blog a day (I didn’t – missed one or two) but that doesn’t matter. For those that did, I commend you. There were some great blogs this month, with standouts by Greenman and Gigantor, who managed to write deep, industry related blogs every day. Then there was Travis’s Kong a Day (crippled by that infernal Frothy Bird!) which I enjoyed as well. I can’t remember everyone’s blogs, but I made sure to read as many as I could, and commented as much as I could. Some of you gave up, some of you tried your best, some of you managed to do all 28 days. All in all, I think it was an exceptional turnout, and really an example of how awesome this community is.
“But Snee!” you say. “What do we do now?!? In the absence of BaD, can we really survive in a cold, Godless universe?!?”
I say: Yes. If BaD didn’t exist, we would have to invent it. And without it, well: we blog! Not every day, but when we can, when it’s fun. I hope that all of you who did BaD enjoyed it and for those of you who don’t blog much, I hope you found that blogging is a great experience and really fun to do. I never thought BaD would be as successful as it was this year, and I think it really brought this community together.
Thank god it’s only once a year though, as it’s pretty tough to keep up!
I’ve been blogging for about ten years now: I started on my own site back when I lived in Philly back in 2004, and then I started on 1up, and here I am now on Pixlbit. I really enjoy blogging, and I do it like other people take in air. It’s something I love doing, and for me, it’s a great way to communicate with friends I’ve met online.
Last year was pretty sad when 1up went to pieces. And while the pain of that is still here, we’ve managed to build a nice and safe community in the remnants thanks to Nick DiMola and friends. Honestly, I feel closer to my 1up friends now than I did on 1up, maybe because this community is smaller, I don’t know.
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is: “Congratulations.” I think what we have going here is pretty awesome, and I think BaD kind of punctuated that. Now we go back to regular blogging, and of course, talk about games! We have Dark Souls 2 and Stick of Truth coming out shortly, as well as the FFX HD, Infamous Second Son, and pretty soon, Titanfall! It’s an exciting time.
I hope you have a great day today, on March 1st, and I’ll see you next year for the next BaD!
