So for some strange reason if you are like me and really like the Tales series then whether you own the Game Cube version or not the remake of Tales of Symphonia is a must buy I absolutely love this rpg the puzzles are good but not hard the characters are alive and interesting and the graphics are beautiful.

So far im in at around 14 hours and have to say its a beautiful game and the battle system is extremely addicting and the characters really draw you in and make you care about your fellow mates who help you out. I really cant get over the graphics and how colorful and magic like the world is.

When Tales of Symphonia first launched on the Nintendo Gamecube nearly ten years ago, it arrived with a fair amount of fanfare, releasing on a system desperately in need of RPG titles. While not the first game in the long running JRPG franchise to arrive overseas, Tales of Symphonia is the title that put the Tales of series on the map for many RPG fans a decade ago. Symphonia is still in many regards the most successful title in the franchise, and holds a special place in the memories of the series’ fans today. The game was shortly after ported to PlayStation 2, although this release never saw daylight in the West.

The collectors edition is a very good collectors dream come true

Praised for its action battle system, Tales of Symphonia was a fast and fun RPG that players could sink more than 50 hours into, even with friends, due to local co-operative capability. The battle mechanics would become the backbone of the systems found in future games of the franchise. Several fondly remember the storyline and characters of the game as well. Symphonia was well enough liked, that it spawned a sequel several years later on Nintendo Wii – Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World – featuring an upgraded battle system and new characters. To celebrate the original title’s tenth anniversary, Bandai Namco decided to rerelease both titles as a collection on PlayStation 3 as Tales of Symphonia: Chronicles.

At any rate Tales of Symphonia is a must buy for any fan of the Tales series and if you can get the collectors edition it is sweet.

I played the original on Gamecube.  Don't have the desire to play it again when I still have Xillia to beat.  But maybe someday I'll play it again.

I remember buying this game on the very first day it was available.

I hadn't preordered so I went on the hunt for it. I found it in a Futureshop and it was the last copy on the shelf. Initial shipments sold out almost immediately and it was very hard to find for some time after launch.

I never finished the game having stopped playing somewhere on disc two after my son overwrote my save file with his.

Now that I have the digital version I'll finally get to finish it. I may start it after Tales of Graces F.

How is this not also on the Wii U? All these GC (even Wii games) games are never going back to Nintendo, aren't they?

I might have to buy this.

I bought the original GC release of Symphonia on day one. I love that game. Playing it was like playing Final Fantasy for the first time. I pre-ordered the Collectors' Edition and picked it up at midnight at Gamestop. I'm kind of pressed for time for gaming, but I'm still finding time to play Symphonia again. It's still just as awesome now as it was 10 years ago.
