Blog 3/9/14: Currently Playing; Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PS4)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Just thought I would throw a quick blog up. I have been playing Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for the PS4. I never played the game on PS3, but this game is gorgeous on PS4.

The gameplay reminds me a lot of the Uncharted series, it’s almost exactly the same. The one thing I miss though is Drake’s humor, makes me wish the Uncharted game for PS4 would come faster. I love the writing and action scenes of Uncharted, and it is genuinely funny.

It’s pretty awesome that the PS4 allows you to take screenshots, all of these screenshot are authentic from my gameplay. It's so easy on Steam and a PC, it's nice that it is just as easy on console now. I am enjoying the game a lot, I mainly use the bow over guns, it’s a lot funner.

According to the game, I am about 25% complete, not sure if that is game progress or takes into account the collectibles. Speaking of collectibles, I like this game’s approach to them. I mean they aren’t easy, but also not impossible to find. Raiding the tombs is definitely a highlight of this game, who would’ve thought, right? Lol.

I have to say, if companies would release more games from last gen that I haven’t played that looked this awesome (Skyrim…etc), I would buy them. I am sure it will happen, it seems like a trend that picked up a lot earlier this gen than last. One already out is Rayman Legends, def a buy for me. Probably Diablo III as well, anyone heard when that is releasing?

I am playing Tomb Raider s well on the PS4 and love it so far. I didnt get to play it olast gen so Im glad it worked out the way it did. I have Rayman Legends on the PS4 and love it. Diablo 3 still does not have an excat release but its suppose to get the expansion that releases this month as well. I dont know if it will be bundled to it but with a name like Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition I would think so,lol.

I have a craving to play a dungeon crawler, loot game like Diablo. I prefer to play it on consoles, which is why I have waited.

I am playing through Rayman Origins right now, I can imagine Legends is alot of the same with improvements. I definitely want.

Tomb Raider was one of my favorite games last year. Glad to hear you're enjoying it. :)

I'm sure we'll see more than a few last gen games get the update treatment. In fact, that's why I didn't buy The Last of Us when I still had a PS3--I'm sure that and GTAV will be getting next gen ports sooner or later.

I was thinking of buying Grand Theft Auto V, but recently heard that it might make a jump to next gen. I am definitely waiting until I hear more now until I buy it.

I think Skyrim would be defintiely be a must buy if they put it on PS4, with close to maxed out PC graphics, it would be awesome.

Worth the wait. By that time, the price will probably come down for this game as well. It already dropped to $35 during a sale, which is what I paid for it.

Still need to play this via Steam some more, I'm not very far in, but even on my lower-end graphics card having laptop, it looks awesome.

I didn't know about the screenshots. That's cool.

Didn't know about screenshots on Steam or PS4? They are both pretty easy.

The sand portion of game looks pretty astonishing, almost photorealistic. The game is alot of gun as well. I have been keeping busy find all the collectibles and tombs.

I just downloaded this last night on PS+ for PS3 obviously. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and I'll post some comments too most likely (minus the pretty gameplay images )

It's alot of fun. I don't know if you like finding collectibles, if you do, there's a lot to do. the combat and platforming is pretty good.

I really need to start playing my copy. It's bad enough I should have waited for the Definitive Edition, but then version I have became a PS+ Freebie
