well, I started playing Lego Batman 2 again last night and within half an hour, I was done.

why?  because i havent played a Lego game that just seems to frustrate me this much.  as i said before level 4, in arkham, should be awesome.  its in ARKHAM MADE OF LEGO.

things just seem complicated.  you have to do way too much to get the minimal amount of things done.  I got to a point where I had to use Acrobat Robin to move a box down a conveyor belt.  No problem.  I get it to me, no idea how to open it.

I checked a few FAQs and it just says "open the box"

I tried to open the box for about 10 minutes before I gave up.  I didnt want to sit there and rely on FAQs to get through a game.  I didn't want to watch youtube videos of a game I just, frankly, wasn't enjoying.

back it goes.  next game coming to me is the Journey collection (journey, flow, flower).  looking forward to it

That sucks. I can relate, as I'm currently trying to get the last five masks in Majora's Mask; so many damn FAQs, and so much waiting ... I feel your pain. lol

Odd you can't open a box, though, must be some weird button combo, or maybe it's glitching, and you need to stand in just the right spot?

It's been awhile since I've played the console version, is it something that needs to be hit with another box on the belt? I do remember that level, and I really didn't care for it

Sorry to read that you're having problems with this game.

Lego Batman 2 had far too many of those moments.  You're basically supposed to play through the entire campaign first, and then go back to play around in the stages and the city after you've unlocked all the characters and free mode.  As for the campaign, unless you were trying to do something you couldn't do at the point (which happens quite frequently), it should have been an easy romp through the game, provided you didn't encounter any glitches.  There were a few times where the game glitched out on me and simple actions wouldn't trigger.  That was very frustrating and disappointing, because I was wasting so much time trying to do something that was never going to happen.  Anyway, the game itself was one huge collectathon, so I'd say you're not missing out on much by sending it back (the same goes for LEGO Lord of the Rings, in case you were curious).

its too bad too, cause previous Lego games (batman, even pirates), i would spend FOREVER playing through several times.  i didnt mind since unlocking a new person with powers to do things i couldn't do previously made the game kinda fun, in a weird grinding way.  Lego Star Wars was case in point there.  but i cant be bothered with this one.

Could be a glitch. Much as I love Lego games, they are riddled with bugs and glitches, some of them game-breaking. I ahven't played Lego Batman 2, so I can't help you.
