Things have been spastic with sales this month. Early reports of Titanfall sales and Infamous: SS preorders are unexpected. Xbox one sales nearly doubled, yet PS4 sales skyrocketed too! Crazy! Here is a big update on the sales front in this exciting new console war for the 8th generation. The future for our favorite consoles could be determined soon.

Okay. The most exciting war is between the PS4 and Xbox one in the US, because this has been Microsoft's turf for years. Well, it has been expected that Titanfall would come crashing PS4's party and help XBone regain the upper hand here in the US. An early report said that Titanfall reached about 700,000 worldwide in about four days. The majority of that would be sold here. Well, a source has reported that Infamous: SS has reached one million preorders worldwide! Also, it is reported that Sony is shipping 400,000 PS4's worldwide to coincide with Infamous' release. In addition, PS4's have been available on Amazon for about a week with PS4 outselling the Titanfall Xbox One bundle. It is possible that Sony was holding out on PS4 stock to counter Titanfall's release. If so, that is so smart! In short, it looks like Sony may still win March even with Titanfall! In the world certainly, but maybe in the US too.

Titanfall is a success, but perhaps not the success people hoped it would be. Regardless, EA has secured the rights to publish Titanfall 2 due to it's success, but it may be multiplatform next time. Respawn stated that they would be willing to work multiplatform on future titles. Hopefully next time, Titanfall will be a true next generation game with 1080p graphics and a steady sixty frames per second gameplay. With more time learning the new hardware from Sony and Microsoft, it could be possibe; especially on PS4. Infamous: Second Son looks to be a true next generation game with advanced graphics and 1080p, but with 30 FPS.

On the Wii U, things look dire. PS4 has already passed it in sales, despite Wii U having a year lead. It is likely that XBone will pass it in a few months as well. After well over a year, Wii U has only sold 5.8 million units. The very recent Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has sold fairly weak, and no game is near a huge hit like New Super Mario Bros. Wii was on Wii. Even I was surprised to see Donkey Kong sell as low as it has. Only about 367,000 in a month. It looks great. Are Nintendo diehards even starting to switch?

I think Nintendo could still compete if they do the following:

1. Drop that price! They should shave off one hundred dollars right away. They could build a larger install base in which to sell their games. They could recoup hardware costs with software.

2. Work on a new 3D Super Mario Galaxy 3 or Super Mario Universe. Where is the next progression of Mario? Super Mario 3D world isn't quite it, and as much as I like 2D games over 3D, most want a brand new 3D Mario experience.

3. Quit taking so darn long on Zelda games. If they need a bigger team, then make one. I am not a big Zelda fan, but I see how an HD Zelda could sell Wii U's.

4. Pay off 3rd party companies to make games or ports for Wii U like Microsoft does for their exclusives. Nintendo is a rich company. Not like M$, but rich. More third party support would bring in more players and help make Nintendo more of a player in the 8th generation.

5. Advertize--yes I like the Z--more. Remember the cool "We would like to play" commercials? Where are they? They need to make their presence more known and start being competitve. They need to stop this panzy sitting back attitude.

Well, there is a big update. I will give concrete numbers soon. Thanks for reading.

Good stuff!!

On the Nintendo Wii U stuff..You are spot on..They need to cut the price, that would make the system a little more appealing for everybody, and hire more people to produce games!! I mean come on, why not do crossovers..I mean people would freak out if you saw link and mario in the same games..Except smash bros!!

I mean how cool would that be, for a game like that..Mario and links adventure lol

Nintendo needs to think outside the box at times..Do what fans what them to do, and advertise what they have to offer!!

End rant!
