Hello Pixlbit. I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Earlier this week I bought the Ear Force XO Four Headsets. As I mentioned on my last post, I wanted to return the Xbox One Stereo Headset to try these out. You can really tell the major difference between the headsets. Since I talked a lot about debating between headsets on my last blog post, I'll only explain the pros and cons about the XO Four's.

The Pros:

This headset really gives you every sound in any game you play on the Xbox One. The first game I tested these out was of course Titanfall. I was able to hear my footsteps even when my teammates titans were passing by. The next game was Battlefield 4. This was probably the best game to test these headsets out for out of all the games I played with these on. I can hear every footstep I take clearly, my body motion when I hop over a wall or go from running to prone into a grassy area. The one thing I noticed when I make a footstep is the sound of transition my character would make if I were to run in dirt to concrete to water. I thought that was very impressive. I can hear the different commands that were being said from other characters when I spot someone. I then tried out Forza 5. It sounded a lot better from the Stereo Headsets. I can hear engines reving at the starting line and clearly hear the transmission in my vehicle. Next was Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare. This wasn't a test for the headphones, but more of my curiosity. I wanted to hear the silly sounds the game offers. Where its the way the pea soldier rushes to the battlefield or how the engineer zombie sounds when he's rumbling on his jackhammer. And finally, CoD Ghosts. This really made a difference from the stereo headsets. When I used those, I couldn't tell where the footsteps were coming from. Now I can clearly hear where the enemies are. This really helped out when we were playing close quarters. I also tested these out on my iPhone and MacBook and these are great for listening to music/podcasts and watching videos on your computer. They're almost as good as my Sol Republic headsets.

The Cons:

I only have two complaints about these. The fit of the headsets and the mic. At first, these headsets feel really compressed onto your head and around your ears. I assume I still need to use these more often so they can break in. This isn't a big issue if that's the case, but right now it's kind of a bother. The mic on the other hand, when you take it out of the box its a regular detachable mic that you can easily plug in. I've noticed that when I adjust it to where people can hear me, it tends to go back to it's original position as it was in the box. Another thing about the mic, I've watched unboxing videos and some people had the mic boom. In my case, it didn't come packaged with it. It's no big deal, but it would help if it did come with it.

From everything I just explained, I think this headset is a good buy. Price wise, maybe not. If you're willing to spend $100 on these I'd say go for it. The Xbox One Stereo Headset is $20 less, but I figured for $20 more I can get something that sounds better. Even though the stereo headset was the most comfortable headset I've ever used. If you're willing to spend $160 for the XO Seven headset, I would say go for that too. I've read that's the best headset right now for the Xbox One. I wish I could get that headset to try myself, but I can't consider the extra cash for that.
