Good morning fellow Pixlbiticans! It is a nice 66 degrees here in Sunny Southern California. Spring is here, that two weeks of Winter was fun, and now I can’t wait for the two weeks of Spring before the months of triple digit heat. Yes the Summer weather sucks, but the majority of the tourists are gone. Yesterday I was stuck behind an A-hole who thought 50mph Speed Limit was a suggestion and decided to go 10mph under it, all while pointing to various locations. I was stuck behind this genius, and when I went to pass he was rocking the early Bluetooth headpieces while playing tour guide. I don’t hate all tourists, just the ones that are jackasses.

Anyways today’s entry is not about jackass tourists, but a couple of items I usually reserve for Quick Hits but I thought you folks might enjoy these items today: Toys R Us is having a sale, and my Aztecs are in the Sweet Sixteen…okay maybe the last one might be more me than you guys/gals/little green men watching from above.

So I heard that Toys R Us was having a Clearance sale, and right after I read about it on the interwebs, I get an email

I figured why not give it a looksee, I was feeling a bit better, from my cold, my basketball game ended, and it was the weekend so no Bonanza, so I headed out to the local TRU. While at the store I noticed a bunch of stuff in the electronics section had the green tags, and since I didn’t bother to look at my email I just scanned an item from each color and did the math. A nice mother kept telling me about to look for what was on sale. I was waiting for her to call me “Mijo” but it didn’t happen.

So I was looking for games, spotted a couple I liked and then GameStop Guy showed up. GameStop guy or what I like to call “Mouthbreather” is the guy who hangs out at GameStop, and just talk to the poor employee trying to do their job. This time he was talking to his friend about DS games and going on and on about various games. I think all she wanted to know is if the game would be fun for her. Anyways while I was looking at the PS3 games he made some comment towards me, I just looked at him, and then went about my business. It was something fanboyish, which really doesn’t need any response because you’re just feeding the real life troll. I left the area to go and check if the Lego section got the same color treatment, which it did not. Time for me to get my items and leave so I can pickup dinner, so I went back grabbed my games, one of them I heard Mouthbreather wonder outloud “I wonder how much that game is” and I proceeded to check out. So in the end of my trip to Toys R Us I picked up

So I finally own a copy of Borderlands 2 for the 360. It goes well with the add-on pack I bought thinking it was the game. Mouthbreather was wondering about this game, and this was the last copy.

Child of Eden and De Blob 2 were games I was watching when they hit the clearance section but were a bit too pricey at their clearance price. Puzzle Quest because I kinda like these match 3 role play games. I wanted to get this Jonas Brothers DS game purely for the hilarity of owning a Jonas Brothers game but after buying these CDs as well

That Simpson guy is on Dancing With The Stars & Glee...yeah I'm SMH too

I needed some self respect, so I will hold off on the Jonas Brothers game for a couple of days.

I heard some rumors that some DS systems were on clearance; unfortunately my local store no longer carries them. They do have a PSP bundle…that’s full price. What the hell? If Toys R Us would throw it in the clearance sale at 40% off, I would gladly take it off their hands. So if you have a Toys R Us, check them out, you might find some cool stuff on Clearance.

Now for basketball

My Aztecs are in the Sweet Sixteen! Second time in four years, with a team that was supposed to be “rebuilding” and picked forth in conference.

In the second round of the tourney, one of our in conference rivals got knocked out again in their first game. Last year they lost to Harvard, and this year they lost to Harvard of the West: Stanford. Doug Gottlieb posted this

Love Gottlieb because unlike other talking heads, he is always positive about the Aztecs. He never sugarcoats things about any teams, he tells you like it is good and bad. He does love the SDSU program because his brother used to be on the coaching staff. During games he would give you some history about the program and made sure people know about the streaks we have, but will also tell you our weaknesses. I would rather listen to someone who tells you the good and bad of a team with no bias on either end than the announcers on ESPN who only love the programs they carry, or are in the “Big 5”.  I do love Gottlieb using the hastag LOLobos.

My Aztecs survived the Giant of NMSU, and had North Dakota State next who many felt were a Cinderella, and some of their fans made it a point to visit message boards and proclaim them better than the Aztecs because of how they lead the nation in scoring or something.  They forgot the Aztecs were second in the nation in defense, went into Kansas and beat the Jayhawks, knocked off media darlings Creighton, and won their conference…with a rebuilding team.

One of their fans even posted this in front of our house

I thought it was funny.

After the Aztecs beat NDSU, the usual excuse of “our team didn’t shoot as well as they normally do” pop up. This happens when you face this defense. Also our superhero X went off

The Aztecs now face Arizona, a team that beat SDSU early in the year in San Diego. This game should be fun, especially in Anaheim when the last time the Aztecs were there they beat Marquette in the Wooden Legacy.

I’m a Cowboys fan but after Duke lost, this was posted on my Twitterfeed, and I laughed, and it was out loud.

Ok to bring it back to gaming related stuff:

I finished Enter The Dominatrix DLC for Saints Row IV. It wasn’t bad, I think the gameplay got lopsided when I unlocked the unlimited ammo for the ‘Merica Gun, but it was still fun. I haven’t tried the 50s DLC pack yet, but I’m saving it for later in the week

In MLB The Show, my character is hitting in the high .400s, 10 home runs, 21 RBI, and is on the bench. WTH is up with this logic? Usually you keep your hot hitter in the lineup, but apparently the starting Shortstop is better than my character even if he’s struggling to hit above .200.

I started year five with the Oregon Ducks in NCAA Football. They are ranked 11th, and struggled to beat 21st Texas A&M in College Station. It came down to a superman performance by the Quarterback to get the win. This might be a long season for the Ducks after winning four straight national titles.

I saw some screen grabs of a Family Guy game that mimicks Simpsons Tapped Out. There is no doubt I will be playing this game.

Well good people, it is time we end today’s blog.

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

de Blob 2 is so much fun. So is the first one. They didn't get the love they deserved.

I heard it was fun, but I waited for a price drop...hopefully I'll get around to giving it a try this week.

I'm going to pick those up too at some point. They always looked creative and interesting to me.

They are very addictive. I popped the second one in to make sure the disc worked and two hours later I was still playing it.

Cody who? Well I'm glad you got some self respect. lol I don't think I've ever been Mouth Breather guy, but the folks at Game X Change might be calling me Milk Maid, like in the Clerks movie, cause I go there every other weekend or so and check every damn GCN, N64, GBA, GB/C and DS box in the store before purchasing or just leaving. So I'm a bit like the Clerks milk maid who looks at every damn milk carton before buying. Either way, in about two months, I get to be a jackass tourist near you! Laughing

I haven't been to Toys R' Us in ages, simply because there was never one that close to me, even back in my parents' house near Dallas. It's too bad. Seems like they have good deals.

I am rooting for SDSU now, even though I had Arizona beating them in my bracket. My bracket has been torn to shit though, so I hope it will be again. Laughing

SFA did not shoot as well as usual during the VCU game, but I think that was just them being nervous, where UCLA's defense kept us to the perimeter almost the entire fucking game, so I don't think that excuse goes for yesterday. Like I've said a few times, I'm nothing but proud of our NCAA performance this year and our 29 game consecutive win streak before last night.

As for your game-related stuff, funny how it is also sports-related. lol I wonder if that Family Guy game will also be free.

Only reason why I know him is because of Dancing With The Stars...which probably brings in even more shame. HAHA. I think it's okay to have a set schedule at various stores. I go to GameStop maybe once a week and do the same. Just as long as you don't camp out there for hours you won't be a mouthbreather. Don't be that tourist!...and if you're driving slow like that you're looking for In-N-Out Burger Tongue Out

Toys R Us has their moments when they can have good sales, and I'm hoping more games drop to 50% off.

It's all good, a lof of folks are rooting against SDSU. Today ESPN basically said we're the worst of the Sweet Sixteen teams because of who we played in the tournament, like it's SDSU's fault. As the Show loves to say "No One Likes Us, We Don't Care"

Haha I didn't even notice that. It would have been worse but I put away the March Madness game, and I won't touch it until after the tournament. Hopefully the Family Guy game is free. If they follow the Simpsons it will be free but have a ton of in-app purchases

$1.98 is too much for Cody.  Tongue Out

Haha, that's why I paid a $1.40 Tongue Out (I probably still paid too much LOL)

I still need to play both De Blob games, have fun.

Haha...I would have passed but when I bought a couple of their CDs awhile ago, I have an odd need to try and complete the set if I find them cheap.

I need to go look for the 1st Blob game.

I can't believe a store is still selling PSPs.  My local Target has a crap ton of PSP games on sale, but they aren't selling a single system to play them on.

I think there is one GameStop that has a new PSP. I want to buy it, but I'm holding back because if I get it, TRU will probably drop the price on the one they have.

There's a K-Mart here that has a handful of PSP games for $5. I don't have them but I will wait until I either get my PSP fixed or buy a new one.

Yeesh, I haven't run into anyone like that when at a Gamestop, at least not yet anyway. I'm not one for confrontation but I just might reconsider if I ran into someone like that.

I think you've run into someone like that at one time or another. It's good that you're not into confrontations, I'm usually not either but guy was being a Grade A dbag and tried to include me into his crap.
