I have or had Drum's Not Dead somewhere and I remember liking it. I've really got to get back into listening to music seriously again. These days I rarely listen outside of the car.
Album review: Liars

It was early 2002 when I heard Liars first LP, "They Threw Us All in a Trench and Stuck a Monument on Top" and was impressed. It was the kinda of messy, dancey noise that always draws my attention.
From that point, I snatched up every Liars album as it released. While it can't be said that they are musically consistent, they can be relied upon to give the listener something interesting. From the debut's dance-punk to disjointed baroque songs of their third album, you can't help but pay attention to how they construct their songs.
Now, with their 7th full-length album, "Mess," they've smacked me even harder, taking a hard turn from the minimal ambient electronica of their last album and making pounding electronic dance music that to me feels like the dance-punk they started out with, just using keyboards and computers rather than traditional instruments.
The song above, "Vox Tuned DED," is among my favorite tracks of the album. It (as well as the entire album) has been in heavy rotation in my ipod. That's not too unexpected, since I tend to listen to every Liars album exclusively for about a month before I start letting other things start making their way in again.
