The things that i deem interesting this week

Deaths Frown

Famous D&D Artist has Died

David A. Trampier, 1954-2014

You may very well have seen his work but not know ihs name but he set a standard for tabletop game art wrk that has inspired all forms of games comics and trading cards. I don't think artist in this industry has had as much impact as him, I'll leave you with his most well known piece.

Comic news

Spider-man of 2099

...Is getting an ongoing, the Original writter Peter David will start things off for 8 issues. I'll see what it's like after he's gone.

Sandman: Overture #2

It's gorgeous, some might not think it's worth the wait between issues but it's okay by me, all those who haven't read it yet, trade wait I suppose.

Teen Titans: Earth One

An elseworld grahic novel telling a new interpratation of the classic team, which is just as well as the current TT book in the Nu52 are awful.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer, Bay style

I don't hate it right out, but the whitification of the Shredder and the less than inpressive cgi Turtles I'm not holding my breath.

Games

Max Payne 3

Finished it this week, I wish I don't suck at it (I need a desk to use a mouse) but it's a very viseral and overall good game, it's a bitter sweet end but it's a fitting one, I'm kinda hoping for a 4th, just to give him a happy ending potentially. The humour and self-awareness of Max is a bit of a downer but it shines through every once in a while, they could easily make an Anime of the series, I'd watch it Smile

Batman Arkham Knight

Rocksteady released the new Image above, is this Azrael? I don't know but there could very wel be an imposter out there, This could verywell be Hush who has stolen Bruce's Identity from Arkham City or Jason Todd (which I less likely), we'll see won't we?

Guilty Gear -Xrd-

Arc System Works have been releasing their soundtrack the past few days, this is one of my favs, many of the arragements are very similar to the ones from X2, which is a very welcomed choice Daisuke Ishiwatari is a master of Fighting game soundtracks

Cool

Persona 4  (PS2)

I've gotten far enough where I can chose a job and hobby, I'm a few days before the fog comes and the girl from the Inn is in the Castle (Yukiko?), I don't know if I should grind in the castle up till the last day to fight the final boss or concentrate on my social life and improve my other states (my Courage is loooooow)

Games to Buy

I'll eventually by te new Strider and Rayman games (Origins and Legends), Yes on PC

Work

I finally got my employee discount card and they have/are redeveloping my departmen with new equipmnt and a new service plan to take the customers through each section. It's about time to because some equipment was damaged like those overpriced Beats headphones, the 2 blokes woring on all the displays where nice, you could tell they where pretty much friends and where really good at there job, they shared some of my enthusiasm for some of the equipment.

Music

Not much to be honest Shakira's back and I thought/hoped she was dead (her career of course Undecided)

Well that's not stricktly true.

Jazz

Wednesday I attended th first live Jazz performance in several years, I had quite a good time.

(The Pianist and Keys/Claronet player are absent from above)

I listened to them, "Monster on a Leash" in Soho London, I may make this a regular thing. My Dad today told me of a story of him as a young man who hung out in Soho where there was this disco which had all glass in the front and he and my mum to saw everyone dancing from outside.

I guess it's true what they say "One who is tired of London is Tired of life" Wink

Gregory Porter

I finally Listene to his latest Album and I now have a new favourite (drinking) song.

Um, I think that's it for now, I didn't exect to write so much and I can't be bothered to spell check.

This is V saying "Get Hyped!!"

that artist was a BIG part of my imagination growing up, and when I looked through my D&D books a couple months ago, I still revelled in the interior art.  He conjured up worlds and really inspired us to come up with our own adventures.  I never knew his name, or knew who he was, but I really respect his work and the work of all the other artists who put their stuff in Dragon Magazine and campaign sourcebooks during the heyday of RPG's.

I've been hearing this a lot about from many D&D lords out there, I remember many images though i've never played much of the game myself.

It's a real shame.

I had that players manual and the dungeon master's manual from the same era. I think my wife threw them out. :(

It's always the wife, throw out her shows she never wears but insists on keeping "by accident" Wink

Killer Instinct looks sooo good. It's one of few reason I may go XONE over PS4 eventually.

Greg Porter sounds cool.

I like Shakira and her music ... and ass. Tongue Out

Xrd looks cool and that's a batass Arkham suit.

TMNT looks like shit. Turtles in background like Transormers in their movies. My DJ was telling me he liked the dark black and white comics.

R.I.P. to the artist.

I like the Spidey 2099 suit, but the cartoon of that was eh on Netflix. Typical kids' stuff to me.

That sandman cover looks awesome.

KI has never been that big for me but I've always respected it was a product of it's time, they really are taking care of the franchise for the fans. It's just sad it can't be ported to the company that spawned it

Porter is real cool, a very soulfull voice. And yes, Shakira does have a nice ass.

I Xrd and Arkham Knight are the only games I care about.

TMNT won't be as good as the first (ever) but apart from the CGI (and white shredder) I just don't know.

2099 cartoon, that was Unlimited, a kinda seudo inspired by 2099.

The Interiors are to die for.

Yeah, Unlimited. I only watched the first episode up to where Carnage and Venom chased him onto the spaceship, and you'd think being that Venom and Carnage are my favorite Spidey villains, I'd like it, but I dunno. Too much cheese from what I saw. I may try again, though.

I think the old KI's still hold up. I'd love to find a copy of Gold

I remember seeing the images of the trailer around Tumblr, but it's only now that I decided to watch it. Meh. The CGI turtles look bad, but the rest of the trailer didn't seem neither bad nor good.

Haha, i'm Colombian but i'm not a fan of her music either. That said, atleast her newest song is more bereable than Drunken Love, the godawful Dark Horse and the annoying Talk Dirty (go away Jason Derulo!).

Great song you posted. Glad to see Jazz on the modern age, and even get a video on Vevo.

I to am in a state of flux with the TMNT trailer

Thank gawd i'm not the only one who can't standdrunken love, every girl here goes mad on that song and it's just annoying, Jason Derrulo came back from the same pit as Shakira they vanished, no one missed them and then suddenly everybody loves there mediocre music.Yell

Kind of glad I bothered to go see the performance I don't go out enough and a change of scenery and sound was welcomed.

To be fair, I think Shakira has a wee more of talent than Jason Derulo. It ain't hard when the latter is a Chris Brown knock-off that can be just as arrogant and sometimes even more than Chris Brown.

I'm at a lost for words about the TMNT trailer.  I can't say it's going to be good or bad.  My expectations for the movie were pretty low to begin with. Laughing

And still those that seen it have written it off. It's just what we've come to expect from Bay, "Name only".

That J.H. Williams art on the new Sandman series is fantastic.

It is, he's trying some newer of fewer used styles than before, splendid stuff.

Was it me or does the TMNT trailer look like every Transformers trailer released? I blame Michael Bay!

Good stuff on the Jazz and GREGORY PORTER! GO AZTECS!

V4Viewtiful

It's typical Michael Bay phonining it in, give him a movie he gives a damn about and it holds up better. It doesn't seem that The Turtles will be as much in the back ground than before  but that's just my hope.

Hopefully I'll like this film. I wasn't a fan of the Transformers flicks or as I called them "Big Robots Movie" because they just weren't the Transformers to me.

Dang. First the "devil drawer" and now HR Giger. Not a good time for artists right now.

that TMNT trailer gave me nightmares.
