That reminds me of the Earthquake that happened in my area a while back, nothing really happened but the local news blew it way out of proportion.
Little Bit Of Shakin' And Some Gaming

Hello Pixlbit! It has been a windy last couple of days and as I type this, the sky is actually clear. Yesterday as I was out and about the sky was tan because of all the sand. Of course there was a shaker over the weekend here. I live a good distance away from the epicenter so all we got was a little rolling. Local news made it out to sound like we had a big one but Reddit had a good explanation on what folks around my parts endured
Yeah the next day Costco was full of folks buying tons of bottled water, and guess who was there? This guy. Anyways you don’t want to read about the earth shaking
Ok one more earth shaking reference.
So with the release of MLB 14 The Show, I seriously contemplated buying a PS4 just so I can play this game
The graphic detail is insane compared to the PS3, but what I am really excited about is that the developers incorporated some aspects from Road To The Show into the actual baseball games that speed the game up. From what I read when you go to bat there is a random pitch count which cuts down the time of the game. Since there will be no NCAA Football, this is the first baseball game I will be buying on release day since MLB 2K5*
*Remember when the 2K5 games were released at $20 a game. All the games were high quality games and I preferred them to what EA produced.
I decided that I should still wait a bit to get a PS4 because buying a console for just one game that most likely I will be playing on my Vita…more like 60/40 split, but $400 is a lot of coin to be dropping especially since if I am going to be dropping a little more on a phone next month. This is way too much money to be spending on two toys.
My other dilemma is this: should I stop playing my MLB 12 game because I probably won’t touch it after tomorrow?
Created Chris is on a tear. After last seasons disappointing year of being benched even after winning Rookie of the Year, the Mets lowballed my player for 480,00 because I wouldn’t re-sign, so they picked up my option. Currently I am a full time starter hitting over .430, leading the league in Batting Average, Home Runs, Doubles, Hits, and RBI’s, and is in a 23 game hit streak. My favorite stat is from a game from yesterday
I hit for the cycle.
I did play some other console games as well:
Ridge Racer 6 – 360: I explored two more areas, and unlocked three more cars. I find it funny that there are some races where there is no Nitrus for your car yet everyone else gets one shot.
Midnight Club Los Angeles – 360: I seriously question why I bought this game when I already completed it on the PS3. I’m having trouble winning a tournament in Hollywood. I am racing in a Ducati and I seem to get a good lead until the last checkpoint when either the cars in the race somehow show up or I crash. This went on for a good hour where I calmly dropped the phrase “F*ck This Game”
Call of Duty Ghosts – 360: I took out another level, this time listening to Jay Mohr Sports instead of Mamma Mia (once again Broadway versions of ABBA songs while playing FPS War Games makes it that much more hilarious)
Unit 13 – Vita: I played two levels and I’m starting to think I’ve seen all that there is to this game…four missions in. I guess you level up the various personnel based on their expertise. I’m glad this was a PS+ freebie.
On the tablet side of gaming
Real Racing 3
I unlocked the Mercedes Benz Race car, which took a little longer than expected. I upgraded everything, and haven’t been back to race it. At this point I just want to unlock all the races and cars and be done with it.
Simpsons Tapped Out
There was an update last week which means I can finally level up to Level 39 (in real time I should be at least around 60 or so), and since this was an update there have been new quests and new characters
Manjula and Sanjay are added to Apu’s Family. These characters were unlock with Apu and Manjula’s apartment, and Sanjay’s house. To make room I removed four pink houses and placed them into storage until Origin either creates more land.
In new Tablet Gaming I’m trying these two games out
Star Wars Assault is a turn-based game where all you do is point and click stuff. I’ve only played a level or two at a time, and I am still on the First “World”. Fun game but it charges you these lighting bolt things. You get a handful to start each day, which means if you want to have a marathon session you might have to use real money. This is purely my opinion because I only play one level at a time. From what I’ve seen it isn’t a bad game, but I haven’t dived deep enough into it to give a full review.
Star Wars Force Collection is a card game that I haven’t played yet, but the premise sounds interesting (I’m giving it a try because it’s Star Wars, I’m usually not a fan of card games). I’ll probably give this game a try during lunch.
Well Pixlbit is has been fun but it is time to end our blog here.
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
