March was an exhausting month. Not that it was so full of stuff but everything was just...exhausting. I was mostly absent around here, I know, but I've got some things planned for April and even have a blog already written! But we're talking about March right now. I did get one game finished and made progress on several more. Take a look!

Games Beaten

-Dragon's Crown (PS3)

The most striking aspect of Dragon's Crown is the graphics. They are gorgeous. I wish more games would go with a hand drawn/painted style. The music by Hitoshi Sakimoto is beautiful and perfectly complements and high fantasy setting. The combat is not terribly deep but there are plenty of ways to customize your fighting style (probably more important on higher difficulties). I was annoyed at first by the level repetition but soon came to appreciate the game on its own terms. Decent replay value, especially if you have a group of friends to play with.

Games Bought

-Deus Ex: Human Revolution: Director's Cut (Wii U)

I loved this game when it first came out, so I'm stoked to play it again, especially because of the revamped boss fights.

-Trauma Center: New Blood (Wii)

$3 at a consignment sale! The DS games are really good. Hopefully the devs compensate for the imprecision waggle controls.

-Punch-Out!! (Wii)

-Fallout: New Vegas: Ultimate Edition (360)

-Sword of Mana (GBA)

I'd rather have the original version of this game—Final Fantasy Adventure—but this was cheap enough for an impulse buy.

-F.E.A.R. (360)

Now I can finally start playing this series!

-Halo 2 (Xbox)

I hope the 360's emulation is up to snuff for this marquee title.

-Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion (3DS)

I've heard this is a little dull but my wife nabbed a new copy for $6, so I'm happy to try and make up my own mind.

-Civilization Revolution (XBLA)

Free with Gold!

-Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (PSP)

$5 on Amazon! Found out about it because of the game deals thread in our very own Pixlbit forums Smile

-PS+ games—Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut (PS3/Vita); Thomas Was Alone (PS3/Vita); Unit 13 (Vita); Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition (PS4)

Now Playing

-God Eater Burst (PSP)

Made the most progress yet in a one-month span. Up to tier 6 missions (of 10) and it's getting pretty difficult.

-Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS)

Finished the third world. The game has grown on me since starting it but I still miss the RPG elements.

-Pirate Code (Mac)

In the third chapter. Let me know in the comments if you've at least tried the demo!

-Pikmin 3 (Wii U)

Definitely a must-play game on the Wii U. Using the gamepad as a map is really helpful.

Pikmin 3

-Gears of War 3 (360)

Just started this up with the wife the other night. We're in Act 2.

Whew! That's more games than I like to have going at once but hopefully most of them will be in the Beaten category next month Smile

My March was extremely busy life-wise, and all I got out of it was my current profile pic and a bad cold. lol Not really, I had a blast.

That's a lot of games! And out of all of them, I have literally only played Halo 2, and that's only multiplayer with friends who owned it in high school and undergrad.

I have several "event" kind of things going on in April but hopefully day-to-day life will be less tiring. And hopefully no colds but lots of blasts lol

what's the link to pirate code again?

I want to play the Deus Ex revamp too.  Never played the original, and it seems like a good Wii U game.

Click here for the Pirate Code page on Circuit Hive's website. Definitely give it a try, Matt!

Wii U is the place to play Deus Ex now. They released the Director's Cut on other platforms but it was made for the Wii U. I most excited for the revamped bosses. That was my one issue with the original release.

Glad you got Halo 2. That game is a masterpiece, though I recommend to start with the first game so you don't get confused about the story.

Tell me about it! I started with the third one and had no idea what was going on lol. It will be nice to finally get the whole story.

Thanks to you, sir, I'm now keeping track of the games I'm buying and beating in 2014. So far I've bought quite a lot of games, but the beating is low so far. However, I will be rectifying that. Hopefully I can beat some games I've been wanting to beat for a looooong time (FF6 is at the top of that list).

Keeping track of your games can reveal some surprising things. And not too hard!

Finally got around to FEAR. It only took two years after my octoberween blog posts about it!

good luck with new blood. i wanted to get it too but I stuck with second opinion. I'm told new blood is too demanding with very little time to finish most of the operations.

I've played both Trauma Center games on DS and so I purposefully skipped Second Opinion since it's a remake of Under the Knife. That game can be really frustrating and I feared Second Opinion would preserve that. Under the Knife 2 is utterly fantastic. I have hopes for New Blood.

I hope it doesn't take me so long to get around to play F.E.A.R.!
