My New Year Resolution

I wasn't going to have a resolution this year. I can't remember ever fullfilling one ever in my life so what's the point? However, after the discussion I had with some other PixlBit staffers for last week's PixlTalk podcast, I decided to do one after all.

I'm terrified of scary games. I can't play them. Therefore, I've missed out on titles like Silent Hill, Dead Space, and Fatal Frame. I can't even play titles like Doom 3 or Condemned. It stems from my fear of horror movies. I can't watch scary movies either ever since I saw the Exorcist when I was four. So I resolve to conquer my fear of Horror movies and games. I'm going to start off by watching a few movies, mostly ones that aren't too frightening. I guess Child's Play would be a good place to start. On the video game front, I'm not sure where to start. Maybe Doom 3 but I'll have to wait until I get my new PC since it's still out of commission.

Do you guys have any ideas? What are some movies/video games that are good to start with if you are a chicken like me? Comment below and give me some ideas. I'm going to need all the help I can get.

Horror movies are fun to watch if they're creepy enough, and sometimes they can be outright hilarious.

Resident Evil 4 is a good one to start with. It's got a bit of creep factor, but it's a lot less startling than others in the series. It's also just a great game in general that everyone should play.

After RE4 he should then proceed to play Eternal Darkness. No excuses.

O snap. How could I forget Eternal Darkness. Forget RE4, go play ED first.

You think Resident Evil 4 and Eternal Darkness are good titles to ease me into horror games?

RE4 more so than ED. ED was the first horror game that spooked me. RE4 didn't scare me at all, but if you want to make the experience that much frustrating then you can walk around killing things instead of running like I did for the first 4 hours of the game... because I didn't know I could make the character run... yup.

Hmm. Maybe I'll borrow it from a friend then. Hopefully someone has it.
